What language(s) do you speak? How did you learn it/them? Please put down the languages you know (including your native tongue) in your post. Put down how you learned your native language if you wish... I'm considering learning some simple language then moving on up to Japanese or something. (If a moderator considers this an appropriate subject for a poll then make it one, please. Allow for there to be a multiple selection option for choices. Include languages such as: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portugese, Polish, Czech, Russian, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Estonian, Japanese, Chinese, Chinese (Cantonese), Maylay, and whatever other languages that might pertain to other members of this forum. Please correct the names of languages if I have them spelled wrong.)
My native toung is English, I learnt that by just sorta immitating people arround me (I was one of those children that could carry out a complex convo at the age of 3 without missing a beat). I am currently learning german though, and doing that through listening to a lot of german songs, and going through the lyrics (and their translations) at the same time, maybe once I can afford it go to an actual german language class and learn to speak it fluiently.
Hmmm, let's see, i know a few words and phrases in other languages (mostly the bad words ), some Spanglish, and English.
English (native) Italian (fluent & accentless) French (enough to get me out of a paper bag on a wet day)
i speak: american ( ) spanish - taking it in high school atm (i'm now on my 4th year, so i'm fairly decent) japanese - barely, but i'm trying to teach myself using a couple things, but i haven't spent much time on it... maybe more this summer
I speak English Took a year of Latin classes, so I know a bit of written Latin. Also taking Spanish, which I am not too good at, but whatever I also do PHP, some JavaScript, and XHTML (I won't even admit that I soiled my hands in perl anymore )
American English (don't let that fool you though, I actually have good grammar, despite going to public schools), some Spanish (which reminds me, where the hell did War-Rasta go? El me ayduó much el año anterior para haciendo mi profesora creí que él y yo somos amigos de la boligrafo...look at that, I remembered the extended character keystrokes), a very tiny bit of German, and I used to remember how to say "you ****-soaked ***stain" (or something to that effect) in French. If you REALLY want to know about that last one....forget it, it's too long of a story and I'd rather not tell it.
Dutch and English I speak fluently, but I also speak a bit of French, a bit of German, a bit of Czech and a few words Polish and not to forget a few words Swedish
I speak Norwegian (mother tongue) English (learned it when I as a kid lived in USA..) German (I am at least supposed to know it...) In addition I guess I can speak Swedish and Danish, at least write them. And I can understand some Dutch, Icelandic, Latin, French, Spanish and Italian. I guess that pretty much covers it.
