Thank you I think i have just the thing to cover the lables sticky back foil, as seen here http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24760 AW3K
Now on to the lighting, I knocked up a simple parraell circuit , with sockets so i can change the leds easally if i want to. the looped wire is where a switch is going to go, just did that to test it. Yes that is another laptop drive, thats for my next project No pictures of it working yet as the cam died AW3K signing out
thank you SweMOD Computer the case isn't a rack mount one its a project box. www.maplin.co.uk item code : KR57M : Box PC26 : £11.79 I'm not the first and wont be the last person to use one of these boxes AW3K
Another update Glued the circuit board down and cut all the wires to size, need to solder the switch and the LEDs tomorow. the switch is at the back for the lights, simple slide switch. there might not be as many up dates this week due to college work. AW3K
Looking good. I'm not sure why, but I always like those small alu boxes you guys over there use to make small computers.. Just one Q though.. What are those holes by the circuit board for? Anything special?
Thank you yup we like small computers the holes are because it is strip board (used for proto typing), copper tracks, where the tracks were not being used i sanded them back to just the board, Cheers AW3K
hey I'ma tryin to do something the same as you but with a rackmount case... check my threads in Modding and Small Form Factor and Electronics forums for more information perhaps you can help me out....
I think you're gonna have to use a couple of cathodes? Ebuyer is very cheap. Is there space for 12" ones?
Thanks but there aint room for a 12" cathode in there hence led's i tried a cathode but every time i turned it off and on again it reset the pc, cos of the 55w psu. AW3K
Hmm, major arse! Have you tried those laser led things (again from ebuyer) or the ones that are designed for car interiors? Might give a better light?
The lazer-leds (aka ultrabrights) are EXTREMELY bright. However, if you give them a fix with some 1200grit sandingpaper , they'll have a nice, even glow.
I just hope they don't draw as much power as the cathode inverter otherwise it will reset every time yeah i'll sand em abit if they do AW3K
