    Think again..

    http://www.johnstonefitness.com/

This guy makes what I did on the atkins diet look like lunacy. However you think he looks now, you can't argue that it's a hell of a motivator to know he did that in just one year.

His stomach is too small in proportion to the his shoulders now though. He looks anorexic!
Big difference though. Wish I had the will-power to eat properly and exercise :(

Oh he has some will power I was happy when I lost a stone and a bit in a year just by cutting out sugary stuff, just need to exercise now to tone up but too lazy.

Yeah agreed, something doesn't look too right.

One hell of a lot of will power though!

I have a fast metabolism atm so i'm always skinny (that's gonna hit me when i'm 26 or something), but one thing I always notice is the difference in posture you have if you work out, even if its just for half an hour a week. This guy wasn't exactly obese to start with but you can see by the change in the first two months that he had a very sedentary lifestyle (hanging shoulders are a big giveaway). I lot of people complain about back pain, shoulder pain etc etc but a little excercise a week to balance out the muscles does no end of good i reckon. (Though I may be bs-ing, i've had a few tonight :) )

edit - argh, the motivation ... there's never enough self-motivation to cover everything...

I'm struggling with the Atkins diet right now. It's the munchies thing that gets me. When I'm hungry, I want some cookies or even a sandwich or stuff. It's not having bread or flour products that's driving me nuts. I'll keep at it a while longer, but damn it ain't that easy despite all the meat and dairy products you can eat. I think I'm gonna turn into a steak or something. And I don't even like steak that much.

I lost a stone and a half in just over a week.

    Well, I was ill

I then tooks this as a cue and now do a lot of weights and go swimming for an our or two a couple of times a week. Sorted out some of the back problems I was having and I also feel a lot healthier myself. Just about to order a punch bag :D

He probably looks anorexic in the pictures as he is doing a stomach vaccuum (shows of the muscles more)

Yeah great ... he's a hero. Wanna lose 10 kg in 14 days ? Fall in love with a woman and have her betray and leave you ! Then, after you've lost all your fat, cause you can't eat a single thing, start training ... and you'll look somewhat like that ... believe me - it also works ! :geek:

    Cheers

Personaly, I could never go to a gym, or work out on actual machines just to improve my body. I'm more of the mentality that I'll get myself the way I like myself my own way, not by how others tell me. And thus far it has worked. At the begining of 2003 I weighed a lil over 260lbs, now I'm a skamp 190lbs. And I lost 30 of that in one week's time. Wanna know my diet? It's extrmely simple, and very very few people can do it, allthough it's very effective. STOP EATING AND GO FOR A BLOODY WALK. Simple ehh? I'm known for fasting, I go for days without feeling hungry at all anymore. My normal daily intake consists of tons of water, one normal meal, and a very small snack before I hit the sack (go to bed). I've never felt healthier or fitter. But, people like this guy over here need help, seriously. He's proably more dedicated to working out than anything else. And yes, he does look anerexic.

Let me put it this way, I don't sleep very much :eyebrow: But yeah, I do have a high post count  I enjoy helping people, and thus do it as much as I can (reguardless of weather or not I know wtf I'm talking about). And technicaly, it's a month and a half :p It's only like 20-25 posts a day! But, I do get outside a lot and ride, walk, do whatever. Also somehow cram in time to mod :dremel: Though thats mostly done while surfing bit-tech :p

I've recently started to go play football abit with my mates from uni...its done no end of good at getting rid of the crap on my lungs...and no I'm not a smoker or anything...but it seems to have removed alot of phlegm etc :)

So thats one plus side...the other is its good fun. If I get fitter while I'm at it, well then :thumb:

The single simplest thing I've done to my diet to actually start helping me lose weight, is to drink the recommended 8 Glasses of water a day.

Since I've been doing that I've not been going to the toilet as much, I'm almost completely off caffeine and am losing several pounds in weight without even changing my diet yet. Plus I'm saving a fortune every day not buying Coke!

    Top tip.

never even heard of it but it sounds like one of those 'miracle' products that are usually sold on the shopping chans.

There are no quick fixes, takes time and work. ;)
