NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT! That's quality modding! Well thought through, and well executed, with great attention to detail!
you did check out the micro version of the tank-o-matic before cutting .... right? description at innovatek.de
have you ever seen those office toys (as i think of 'em, like those BB's strung up and one slams on one side and the BB on the other end flies up. did i explain that good enuff?) that look like a plexi rectangular box w/ water in it, mounted on a fulcrum like a see-saw? they tip back and forth, making waves. if you could rig up somethin like that for a res. that would really keep the "wave" look and theme. or a tri color cold cathode light behind the grill, (prob. where those LED's are) could light up the res three different colors. coooooool
Ok, I know you keep getting suggestions and all, but I think this would really make it look sweet: rig up an LED panel that fits behind the res in those holes. Make it your network activity or HDD light, or maybe just always on. It would look sweet. Since the water is blue, use white LED's, since your project name is White Water WaveMaster
Looking good! im just waiting for my P4 adapter for my WW and than i can begin with some more hardcore clocking
OK......plan B woke up this morning and still loads of bubbles fleeing round the set up so I guess the Tank-O-Matic didn't like being just cut in half and temps were around the 37c mark so I decided to take it to bits and mount an Aqua Tube that i already had re-threaded to fit 14/" BSPT to 1/2" hose tails in the top of the case where the USB housing is/was and re-routed all the hose. Bubbles disappeared in minutes and after about 5 hours its running at 32c.......much better Cheers for all the input and ideas ..........next step is to polish [shiny] that big bit at solid aluminium that i put back in the front and mount the 3 CM Musketeer dials in it see how that looks coz i already took one of them to bits and think they might fit Anyway here's a few pics as it stands tonight...........thanks all still need to tidy the cables etc
The res was a nice idea, but the clip is what ruined it. A better method of securing it and you would have had a really cool unique (I think?) mod. Now the top of your case is the same as mine, heatkiller grill and aquatube. Makes me feel less original I guess it was never gonna be original.. Oh well. NICE!
the current production runs of the tank-o-matic has a threaded hole in the bottom, so it would be very easy to mount it without the big plastic thingy ...
nice case, good pictures they'll come in handy when I'm making my own first blowhole ^^ pity of the res tho... it made it look so original, even if the clips didn't look that neat, I really liked it anyway
Yeah, pity... but all is not lost. That metal bit you put back. Polishing it would indeed be nice. Putting in an LCD display (turned on its end, of course) would be spectacular! Here's a rough sketch of what I was thinking of:
am liking this more and more..........cheers Nexxo for the time and effort Good job i'm a bit better with mod tools than i am with photoshop
Perhaps a graphics LCD that you could use software to manipulate so that the Text is still the right way. Or mabe like 4 or more small LCDs! All w/ blue backlights. That might look really tight!
wow nexxo , great idea you had there coolmiester> you have no excuse to do not realize this it's awesome, keep on moddin
