I am still trying to find a way to make my sound activation work better. Do you think I could plug into the line-out on my motherboard's FP_AUDIO connector and solder the leads on the other end to where the mic leads connect to my sound activtion PCB?

I have some really cool ideas cooked up, but I gotta get past this mic problem first.

I can now answer my own question.

I went ahead and gave this a shot.

    It does work BUT:

You have to remove a jumper to make the connection. Once the jumper is removed, you lose the sound from that channel. It's just like when you plugin your headphones, a one or the other type deal.

So maybe there's a solution out there.

    On the positive side...

The lights flash a LOT more acurately and only to the music (not fan and drive noise).
