Hello all I decided thati did not like the red LED in my mouse so i brought blue one, i have soldered the LED into place but when i put my mouse back into my pc the LED does not light up and the cursor on the screen dont move. Any ideas as i am a newbie to all this. Thanks
if your LED does not light up, check thats its inserted the right way around. otherwise it won't light up and you will require at least a 3000mcd LED for optimal mouse operation
Chances are the led is the wrong way around Just swap it round and you should be ok If not, i guess you've just b0rked a perfectly good mouse... oh well, things can go wrong from time to time... Good luck anyway, and welcome to the boards
Thanks for all your help guys it was the wrong way round so i have changed it now and it looks like this Sorry about the quality but my webcam is crap and i dont have a digi cam
TBH mate i got it free from a mate but try www.maplin.co.uk they are gonna be about the same price everywhere though.
whats the deal with blue leds so expensive??? btw, nice mod, i was thinking of doing somethign like that
Because they're newer technology, i.e. last 5-7 years mainstream as opposed to 30 years+ for the other colours. And they look cooler. So they know they can sell at that price, and surprise surprise they do. that's capitalism for you. n.b. specialist leds like luxeons are usually independent of colour (except possibly white) - I only mean your standard 3-5 mm jobbies
you can buy any color leds for really cheap... $0.45 a piece with only $2.00 s/h...i bought some...i live in the usa...i dont know if they ship to the uk though
I soldered 2 blue LEDs in parallel (one in the plastic casing, one just above it) in my mouse and it glows like a champ. I picked up my blue LEDs from some dude on Ebay. $15 for 100 Blue LEDs, and they're mighty fine lookin.
Here in India we get leds for abt 5 Rs. 1$=45Rs.. so its around 10cents. Hehe , come to India, everything is cheap here
I have an Indain friend, he went home for x-mas and I gave him $300 to buy me some electronic parts, $300 went a long way in India.
hey man, im indian myself, but i come from the State of Punjab but i live here in canada, yeah india has alot of cheep stuff, YOU CAN GET A BOX OF FIRECRACKERS FOR 5rs (less than 50 cents
Sure!! Send the cash over and I'll despatch the leds. One thing though... I won't be responsible if the leds get "lost" during the transit
