    good idea man, will do this in the morning with a 10000 mcd green one i got here, see how that goes.

    oh, and maglights come in a wide range of colours

    Ok. I have a 4D maglight. How many LED's do you think I could run with the thing before the beam physcially distorts objects at close range? :)

    I'd be interested to see this, so if you do it, plz post pics :thumb:

    I've also seen LED clusters for use in traffic lights, it would be interesting to try to put one in a 4D maglight

    I've seen 5D maglites. They are dual purpose - blindingly bright light and club.

    I want one with a Luxeon or some other insanely birght LED.

    I'd be happy to waste a few batts. for science, someone mail me a 4-d cell with those 47 bajillion candlepwr. LED's... and batts... and a stopwatch... and a red ryder BB gun with a blued barrel and a compass in the stock!!!

    you could do the mod with a 4d maglight, but those put out 6v i think. you could use a 5v led with a resistor or two 3v leds in series. something to try out.
