    fun fun :)

    Max In: 99.9 Mb/s (95.3%) Average In: 754.1 kb/s (0.7%) Current In: 511.0 kb/s (0.5%)
    Max Out: 94.3 Mb/s (89.9%) Average Out: 3592.4 kb/s (3.4%) Current Out: 6213.9 kb/s (5.9%)

I'm hosting the images only, bit-tech is doing the html, and I peaked at nearly 94.3Mb/sec so far, just serving those images. Quite heavy load ;)

    slashdot traffic

Approximately 30 million page views a month. ;) *Seriously*
    Proof

PS - This was written in 6/2000, and Slashdot gets many, many, many more hits now. So I have no clue.

Hrm, I think you got nuked last night. I have just run a report on /. and it's not as popular as you think. I can say that the '30,000,000 views a months' is a BiT far off!

Wow, has Bit got an OC3 or faster connection here? Thats gota cost like, £120k/year just for the connection alone.

    actually..

I was hosting the images on my server (which peaked around 99mbit/s in reality), the server is on gigabit ethernet off an oc192 inside infomart USA in verio's datacenter HQ. 9.6gbit/s, where an oc3 is only 155mbit/s. I am, however, limited by the 1gbit/s transfer capacity of gigabit ethernet :) I'm not sure how you are running your "calculations", but slashdot easily pushes 30,000,000 page views a month, I suggest they handle even more now.

    Cheers,
    David
