I jsut installed SpeedFan to monitor my temps(MBM5 wouldnt work :wallbash: ) But it has 3 Temps and HD0.
    Temp1: 52 Celcius
    Temp2: 35Celcius
    HD0: 29 C
    Temp3: -1, -13, 23C (NOT STEADY AT ALL!)
Which one is my CPU temp? The BIOS had my temperature at 37C last time I checked. Oh and by the way, any other Software to check the CPU tempuerature would be great of you could add

this picture shows that speedfan/mobo sensors are far from reliable

If you are talking about MBM sensor 3, then i have configured it correctly. These are the readings it gives out 1) Winbond 3 (-105) 2)Winbond 3 2N3904 (127C) or 3) Winbond 3 diode ( -127C) . Which one is right? :worried: :hehe:

depends on what motherboard you're talking about, because not all motherboards have 3 sensors.

    Lowest temp= Case temp
    Medium temp= Northbridge temp
Highest temp= Cpu temp (unless you are using phase cooling or tec's )

Ive used MBM, Speedfan and AIDA and each of them reports a diff temperature for Temp1, 2, 3, etc.
Highest temp may not necessarily be CPU temp. Ive found hot air pockets in mates computers that edge over their CPU temps.

not really. My kt600 chipset is BURNING HOT at 170mhzFSB and i would say its hitting anywhere up 55oC at 200mhzFSB.

my mobo reports the CPU @ 41 and system(northbridge) @ 30, BUT the northbridge heatsink is definatly MUCH hotter to touch that the CPU heatsink.

If you're running more than one monitoring software at a time they will interfere wiht each other and neither will show an accuarate reading.

@ mm91187, if you want to get MBM to work have a look through their forums to find the correct settings for your board.

I can happily run Asus Probe, Speedfan & MBM all at the same time and they'll all give the same temps

your northbridge chipset cooler is also a lot smaller than your cpu cooler.... this makes a huge difference in the actual dissipation of heat from it, and in the average temperature of the object
