    net send [computer name] text
sends the message "text" to the computer named [computer name]

Try replacing [computer name] with the recipient's ip address

    to check the messaging service - right-click on my computer > manage > services and app's > services > messenger > double-click > start-up type > automatic.

i've had probs with it too - a compromise is to use net send * text which will send to everyone.

are you sure you're on the same network? That is to say, does WINDOWS notice that you're on the same network?

okay so i got it to work a few times. I can send from my laptop to all of the other comuters but not just a specific one. I also cannot send from my desktop to another pc, though it will recieve from the others.

I dont know why they wont accect my messages.
