Well, here is my new project - a stainless steel case. The basic concept is to bring back flames, and also to create a cooler looking case (not exactly a box). You will see, I will just post the pics, you can ask questions about them later.

this is the left side with the flames behind where the plexi will go

here is all the metal together before being bent

here is just the bottom and back of the case bent

the beginning stages of bending the case into shape

this one with both sides bent up

So, tell me what you think, there is still much work to do here (welding, frame, and alot of stuff that i'm keeping secret for now).

    VERY nice .
i'm a little curious aboutt he back panel and how you are planning to secure the pci / agp cards.
Considering that there is no raised section for them to screw into.

That IS a good question that I have pondered many times. Basically, I think that I will bend the PCI cards so that they can work pretty much flat with the back of the case. It was an oversight of mine to cut the square there rather than a ] shaped line which I could bend over and screw the cards into. :duh: But I think I will like it more this way anyway.

How about scraping and attaching just that portion of backboard from another case. The Inwin A500 comes to mind as viable canidate.

I don't see what the big deal is. It isn't a conspiracy, more important to me seems to be: WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT TEH CASE?!? :eyebrow:

I will be starting the frame soon, probably have it done in the next week and then it'll be time to paint the frame and make drive cages. I have some ideas for the drive cages that I think will look pretty cool. If any of you want to explain to me how to make an LED bus which could power about 20 leds that'd be cool. They will all be in about the same place so that's why I wanna make a central powering unit. Thanks.

Thanks alot for subscribing dude. Don't tell anyone, but I am microsoftman - lol. Hopefully they won't ban me again, as I have not done anything wrong, but who knows. But anyway, what did you mean "those are some bad flames tho!" - you don't like them? Suggestions?

well, thanks! I'm gonna be doing a lot of stuff here with this, so I am glad that you like the basic shape... hopefully it will only get better from this point on. Here is the basic list of things I need to do:
    1. Weld and Mount Frame
    2. Cut Plexi for Window
    3. Weld/Permanently afix the shell into its proper position
    4. mobo tray
    5. drive cages
    6. lights (leds and cc's)

Sorry if people like this project, however Ionpcs/Microsoftman/Wowza is repeatedly signing up with multiple accounts and ignoring our rules (his own words) on negating bans etc.

This project thread is closed and (should you be reading this as a guest Ionpcs) if you wish to show people your project, I suggest you set up your own website where you may behave however you like.
