This project now has a thread in the project logs:

    http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=55296

Hey folks, I know I posted teasers of my Laser PC, but I have another project that is taking priority first:

The ATI / AMD 64-Bit Fire PC

    (Click for larger image)

This project is being built for ATI to showcase at events, and for gamers to play on.

This will be a mean looking and super fast 64-bit Shuttle PC.
So this project has to be great looking, and a gaming PC.

    -------------------------------------------
Now for a taste of the mods to come:

The left side will have a tinted window featuring the graphics card.
The window and card will be using orange, amber, and red LEDs to create a flaming effect inside the PC and graphics card.

    -------------------------------------------

The right side will have a window with the "ATI Get in the GAME" Logo.
This will be backlit using white LEDs
I may have more flame effect at the bottom of the window.

    -------------------------------------------

The top will have a AMD Athlon 64 Logo, backlit using white LEDs
Plus an actual Athlon 64 chip, with deep green lighting coming out from behind the pins.

    -------------------------------------------

The front will have the most customizations.
First, a custom black painted alluminum plate backing, with a plexi glass cover.
The saw blade will be custom cut, and in-set into the plexi.
In the middle will be the bulgin switch, with LEDs for harddrive and network flanking the sides.
The Bulgin switch will flash off in sync with DVD disk activity.
The single Bulgin switch will handle both DVD eject and system power.

The front will have 4 custom 7-pin jacks that will connect to the various USB perephrials.
(The extra pins are for expandability in customizing the perephrials)

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    Here are the PC parts:

Very nice, looking forward to seeing it in development. But rather than having that extra AMD64 at the top you could just draw one on and donate it to the...j4ck.....trust fund

The external dimensions are the same as the Athlon 64 Shuttle:
    Dimensions : (L)295mm x (W)200mm x (H)180mm

    ----
The extra Athlon64 at the top will be just for looks, and is already a non-functioning part that I have.

BTW, these renderings were only made in the past four days.

If he custom-makes the saw he can have it looking a lot more saw-ish and rippy than any real saw, get it exactly to size, and chrome it too if he wants

    A few reasons:
-First most consumer saw blades come with carbide teeth, which I would have to remove (Hard enough to do that)
-Even without carbide teeth, saw blade tips bend out slightly, so the saw is not perfectly flat.
-It would take a while to find a saw blade that is exactly the size, and look I want.
-Like DarkReaper said, I can make a meaner looking blade, plus cut all the holes for the LEDs switches and other parts I need.
-Since I will design the saw blade, I will have an exact template to cut the plexi, so I can set the blade into it.

Yes, AMD does like my mods, and they invited me to join their booth at TXGF a bit ago.
Up until now I have not been paid for any project, I sometimes get some parts sponsored, but that is about it.
The financing for this project is different, but is my business.
I build these on my own time, and still work an 8 hour day.

As for how I got my job there refer to this post:
    http://forums.bit-tech.net/showpost.php?p=350669&postcount=107

    ----
But, lets please keep to the project details for this project log.

    I know, I know.
The Laser PC (With watercooled 5950) is on hold, but is next in line.
The MediaPC will probably become a higher priority again, as I am getting a bigger apartment this week, and a Media PC would have more use in it, plus I have some plans to totaly upgrade it anyways.

Woohoo, great 3d work Zap! I see little round things on the bottom of the front of the case, are these for components or what? (I may have missed something, I tend to miss a lot in threads :duh: )

:grr: Once again Zap is rasing the bar. Pretty soon it's going to be called zapforums.bit-tech.net

    Seriously this will be amazing.

Do you think it would be possible to sandwitch the real saw blade between plexi and throw on some LEDs for lighting?

i don't think you really care but i got a stack of 7 1/4 inch (don't quote me on size) of high speed steal saw blades with no blade tip tilt (as you call it). i got about 25 -30 of them in a stack. the top ones are very rusted but the ones in the middle should be fine. if you intrested i can post pics when i get home.. some time saterday..
