I think there may be a problem with this meter. The scale says 6 amps. That is a lot of current to pass through the metre to get a full deflection. Form the images you have posted I cant see an obvious shunt (resistor to change the scale of the metre). Can you see a coil of wire any where near the contacts of this thing?
no , I dont see a coil of wire , is the shunt the big copper wire? it seems to be fix on the two contacts( in and out of the meter)
So, what is the polygon count to render that crowbar? It looks a lot better than the one in the game.... the metal is too shiny.... it needs to be slightly abused and have some green tinted clear epoxy dripping off of it with some blood colored epoxy to approximate what you would see from running a level with no ammo! You could even splash the front or side where the bullet holes are with debris or (epoxy blood/slime) splatters to give it that whole "kicking mutant posterior look... That meter is very heavyduty looking there should be some sort of resister bank in there that would lower the current to a non coil burning level, if you could bypass that it would be able to moniter hdd activity without problem, and make an led driver bank that erraticly flashes, lighting the meter with r=true halflife charicter (sp). Looking awesome as usual! keep on modding! Hope that helps some...
About the meter, u can try putting 9 volts battery on the different connections points and see if its moves, so u at least know if it works and on what connections. I have used that method on about 9 old meters none broke so far .
wouldnt that effectively short the battery, leading to massive over-heating? I've burnt thru a carpet with one of those...
I'm sure you've already thought of it but just in case you haven't; could you mount the crowbar in a way to make it look like its piercing either the metal of the case of as if its been ut through a window (if you are having a window)? Might be a bit of a problem with the weight unless you could make or buy a decent looking plastic one. Just a thought .

Hell no, I shorted so many battery's, non blew up or get to hot, obviously you don’t put the battery on it for like one hour. So a small short-circuit should hurt. p.s. Piloux u tried it already?
This metre is currently set up to measure current though a circuit, to test just get a battery and a torch bulb, connect all in series and see if the needle deflects at all.
