    See how i do this...

    :dremel:

ok so here is my first real project log... its for Project Ignis (ignis = latin for fire)

ok to start it off i began with a old ass micro atx case, and then drew on some flames... hehe, they are easy and i can do them well, so yup they went on...

then i used the :dremel: DREMEL! :dremel: and cut out the basic shap of the window i plan on using.

after finishing that i got the final cut out
    [IMG]

and then came the tedius part... grinding it down.

after the grinding was all finished up, i had the completed window (well not completely but just a few minor sanding jobs here and there)

dont worry thats not the system that i will be using that in that comp right now, i will be using what is in my sig :D

there will most likely be weekly updates after the weekend and maybe a few here and there... but this will probably be a slow log.... let me know if you have suggestions on the front...

now if these images are too big, please let me know and i will resize them asap...

My comment would have been along the lines of "get that man a workbench and some clamps!" - grinding in your lap? you set your nads on fire, you will not be happy... :hehe:

Looking good, one question though, why does everyone use a dremel for jobs like this. It's so unhandy. Try a Figure-saw with steelblades next time, I used that for my UT logo and it went through the case as a warm knive through butter.

lol not really, this is my first try at anything like this... thanks for the compliment though

um, i guess because i have no idea what a figure saw is :( like a jig saw? and dremels are handy, if you have one, they work nice hehe

yes, i drew them all freehand one night, and was like, woah, this looks pretty good... i originally wanted to do something more tribalesc but i cant really draw tribal lol so flames it was :D

thanks for all the positive feedback, im open to sugestions on the front of the case, though i have a pretty good idea what i wanna do

    -={--minor update--}=-

    -={--minor update--}=-

after cutting out all the stamped in steel
    [IMG]

I added some steel support for the fan hole before i cut it out next time i have a chance to work on it... the support is to keep the "slits" from falling out

and then after setting that all up, i went to work drawing the new flames onto the back...

thats it for now... watch out for more soon

why did you cut the stamped holes off?
couldn't you have just hammered them back to flat?

what colour are you really going for? could look great if you take it back to the plain metal.... (and laquer it of course)
