Just ordered up a Mobile Barton XP2500, should be here pretty soon.

Might have an XP2800 (unlocked) up for grabs soon :D

The chips are the same, only the Mobile ones are hand picked to run at a lower default voltage, therefore less wattage, less heat.

Now if you run them at an increased voltage it should allow for a better overclock.

Ah ok thanks for the update. I think I'll stick with my 2800+ for now. I think I can push it enough to meet my needs. I just had a look on the net and the 2500+ Mobile is reported to have reached 2.7Ghz with air cooling which is very impressive have fun with yours :D

Where's the cheapest place to buy the Barton M's? And, of course, how much do you want for the 2800? I presume it's quite a good clocker...

Bit skint for the next couple of months, should've phrased it differently, sorry - just wonderin how much 2800's go for, i'll probably be looking for an unlocked one once i invest in some better cooling :). Might end up with a Barton 2500-M anyway...

    Im doing the same...

I also have a Barton 2800+ running stable at 2400MHz, and plan on selling it. It is an unlocked chip from last years stock.... selling with original boxing, and warrenty info... lol. "Upgrading" to the 2500+ Barton-M to get higher overclocks on my system without upgrading my board or ram at this time. Watercooling the system like it currently is should bring some good numbers... all I want it 2500-2600MHz... stable. LMAO, would be nice to see a 41-42sec Super-Pi time... then, maybe I'll plunge for a upgrade in board and get up to 2700MHz and pull a 40sec Super-Pi time. Will have to see, as BigZ knows, my MSI K7N2-ILSR Mobo only supports a 1.8 Vcore for its topout. Kinda limiting... but I might go with an Athlon 64 FX 51 and a nice mobo instead... depends on money.

But my AMD Barton 2800+ is now for sale as well, with un-used stock HSF, lol.

Right, just got my Mobile 2500 today:

@1.75V - tried 18x at 1.8V but it hangs in XP. Not sure the cooling would like anything higher.
For interest: AQYHA 0410TPMW - Its been out of the fab all of two weeks! guess they must be selling well.

I did the L5 trick, whipped out the trusty XPencil, and it worked first time :thumb:

Thats in my Soyo KT333 with air. Nothing special, but due to having boggo RAM i cant get the bus much above 140. Still, not bad for 70squid.

    Well its here.

Spent hours getting this thing to run faster than my current XP2800, in the end I reduced the voltage to my RAM and it worked.

Kept getting RAM errors in Prime when running at 1.9v (what I as running previously) , dropped to 1.8 and the little bugger started to overclock.

Going to try the L12 mod me thinks, see if I can push the FSB, struggleing at the moment to remain stable above 2650MHz

As I was just telling Yoda on IRC, I've ordered one too. Should get it tomorrow! Should've had it today, but no one was in to sign for the damn thing... grrr!!!

The wait is painful... knowing you should've had it today but must wait another damn day! :grr:

I'll post some 2600MHz screenies tonight.

At first I thought I had a duff chip, couldnt get stable above 2.4 GHz.
