as the title says it has been about 2 years since the last time ive been on the net using dail up i remember why i hate it hail road runner hail t1 hail dsl hail any thing faster than dail up reason why went to grand parents house and was forced to use dail up because they don't have any thing faster
I put up with 56k far too long. I'm never going back! NEVER! they'll see me in hell before they see me using 56k again! Anyway isn't this a bit pointless? This just makes the unfortunate people who can't have broadband feel bad.
Moved house recently and now back on dial up due to a total cock-up between my ISP and BT, over a month waiting for the line to be ADSL activated. Hopefully soon.....
If I was moving house now, the first thing I would check is broadband availability. I was without it for about 6 months about 2 years ago and I'm not doing it again. For anyone. except maybe charlize theron... wait... No. Not anyone. sorry charlize,
It was literally hell when I changed over ISPs asnd got about a month of dial uppage in between due to the new ISP lying...
Dude, have pity on me. I am using my SonyEricsson T610 for dialup access as I can't get to a phone line. I get the glorious speed of 28.8KBPS! Woo hoo! That's with HSCSD enabled. You can't imagine how much I love work for getting our new T1 line!
Back on dial up whilst at home, muchos suckage! Cant play any online games, dl drivers, demo's anything back to 10 meg in 10 days tho, cant wait!
you dont have to take pitty on me, i use Dial Up Over here in New Zealand, Telecom (Telescum) is a whore that restricts "Broad Band" internet access to cities, and not to rural communities. Pffft, our "Broad Band" is about as fast as bloody Dial Up anyway
My exchange is active, but the individual line needs to be switched on by BT at request from my ISP.....
I've only been off dialup for a month now, and it makes me infinitely happy. I know your pain, 56kers. I was guaranteed a broadband installation 7 months before they bothered to equip the wire center I'd be connecting to. They made me wait another month for the free month they owed me for the delay.
BT won't even look at my exchange until 500 registrations and there's only about 1000 houses in my village But all is not lost wireless broadband is on it's way, hopefully the first homes go live next week, and I hope mine shortly thereafter Yah Boo BT kiss my dialup.
I have no choice, 56k or 56k. BT think that they can't fob me off with a 500 limit on the exchange even though I live in a tiny hamlet in the middle of nowhere.
If everything goes to plan I'll be at Reading uni in a few months. Dial up is all you can get in the halls
