No offense... But Zap do you even have a life? Spends way too much time with your toy.

BTW 1000th post on this thread... Nice job :thumb:

It's not like I do nothing at home but mod.
I still spend lots of time with my wife, and friends.

I just get less sleep then most people.

The ammo PC has been done for months now, so I just move on to the next project.

    The Mouse

With all the leds in the optical mouse doesn't that affect the optical sensor and the bottom shot of your mouse looks like only green light; did your replace the red led in the bottom of the mouse with a green one, or was that how you bought it, if not doesn't that affect how the optical sensor works?

    your awsome

Except for the green, will these LEDs have the same effect as show here?

Noah, please change the image in your poast to a link, large images suck up bandwidth.

And yes, the green LEDs from www.LSDiodes.com are about the same as the ones I used in this project.

Thanks, and I just removed the pic. Sorry about that.

One more question: I read the thread, and you said you had that sticker printed and laminated professionally. Did you use a machine you had, or did you bring it somewhere? Explain please... :hehe:

I used a machine at a scrapbooking shop my parents own.
The hand-turned machine simply applies a plastic layer to one side, and a sticky layer to the back side.
It is basicly a make-your-own sticker machine.

Do you know of a way I could have one professionally done? Maybe at somewhere like Staples?

They will charge a fourtune for one sticker (usually). But, you could go to staples and buy and Inkjet Printer Sticker Kit. Or try pricing out some local Vinyl Decal shops. Sometimes a single vinyl sticker isn't too bad... :thumb:

Thing is, with a printer, I will have to cut the sticker. Obviously, I will not be cutting with precision. :(

Maybe I can can a sticker that is the exact size of what I am printing?

A straight-edge (ruler) and a razor can be your friend. Besides, if you mess up, just print another!!

Also, Staples carries adhesive laminate, which you could use the put a protective layer over you printed sticker...

Seriously, you would be surprised the results you can get with this method.

You could try Michaels hobby stores.
They should even sell the machine.

They do sell the machines. I think the sticker/laminate combo is like $80, although I could be mistaken on the price. I was looking at them a couple of weeks ago :D

I love that mouse, zap. Obviously, the rest of the computer is amazing so I will only talk about the mouse for now, hehe.

I cracked open my MX700 today, its got an awful lot of stuff running under there. I don't think any LEDs will fit! haha! I love the mouse though, wireless tastyness.

    congrats on a great mod
