Fitted new barbs to my settup, but managed to crack the plexi on my northbridge cooler.

Any way to fix this or does anyone know where I can buy a replacement plexi cover (waterchill chipset block)

ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch... thats the pain that u can get with plexi. Brittle stuff it is, and doesnt like pipe-threads! ur only problem would be if it leaked, rub some silicone sealent into it top, bottom, sides, and u should be ok. Wont look **** hot, and ur still best off with a new top if there good on warentee.

    The pain! The agony!
But i think u could fix it with some epoxy... Some types of epoxy are 16x the strenght of concrete. And there are types that are fluid-resistant

I had the miss fortune do bugger up my spiral by some over zealous tightening of the barbs. I got on the emails to D-Tek and a new top was dually sent in the post. On the new one there is plastic barbs (screwed in hand tight) held in now with araldite as the original silicone had become loose in installation. I then use plastic hose clips. Just use a bit of Vaseline on the barbs so that the hoses go on and off easier.

What I dont understand is why WB companies use plexi instead of lexan or polycarbonate (samething different name).

It isn't that much more expensive, it is stronger, doesn't crack, it machines easily.......
A piece of 3/8" lexan for a waterblock top would be nearly indestructable.

Oh well, as long as I have to go to lan parties with my only rig, I'll be using air cooling, so I don't have to worry about cracked blocks myself.
