Ok here's my current Hi Fi setup:

Marantz PM6010 OSE KI Signature Amp
    Arcam CD72T CD Player
    Quad 11L Speakers
    Project Debut Record Player
    Sony "El-cheapo" MD Recorder

In the PC I have a SoundBlaster 5.1 Live with a Cambridge Audio 5.1 Speaker setup. It's all rather nice, but I want to upgrade the Record Player and maybe the MD Recorder at some point

Well it depends on where I am sitting for me.

If I am at my computer then I use a set of SurfSound speakers, there not very hi end but with a little lift is used in the bass/trebble they are quite listenable for games or simple music listening.

Then behind me is truly classic stereo system (15-20 years old) a pair of old but very good Technics amplifiers (one receiver/amp and one intergrated Class A) these run a set of classic Mission Model 77's.

Now in my bedroom I have a significaly more upmarket AV/music setup.

    MY SPEC:

All calibrated with a RadioShack SPL meter.

    DVD Player Lg 3220e.
    Amplifier Denon AVR-1802.
    Rotel RB960BX Power Amplifier.
    Mission M73 Floorstanders.
    Mission M7c2 Center.
    Mission M7ds Surround speakers.
IPL Acoustics SW2 DIY kit Subwoofer.

    Cables.
Ixos 1 meter gold Digital coxial cable.
    5 Meter Gold scart cable.
    10 meter subwoofer cable.
    10 meter speaker cable x 3.

This used for DVD movies or stereo music, as I use the Rotel poweramplfier for the main floorstanding speakers I can have the best of both worlds for music and movies.

Creative Audigy with DTT 550 5.1 speakers. they don't sound too powerful but at half volume the noise hurts.plus me Aiwa NSX-D55.its about 300 W of sound(don't get used too much though).

PC one is connected to a Leak Stereo 30 amp and KEF Cadenza speakers (both from '70s and sounding amazing)

PC two is connected to a Yamaha HTR-5360RDS H/C reciever and a set of Eltax Silverado speakers (5.0). Also on this system is a Medion DVD player with coax digital connection to amp, a PS2 with optical connection and a Sony MD deck (cant remember model no. off hand- think its a 480).
Soon to be added is a DIY 12" subwoofer powered by a NIKKO stereo amp.

It is a shame you got rid of the Mission M74's.

They do need lots of power to perform well, I use a solid Rotel Poweramp for my Mission M73's.

Fair few people using rotel amps here :)

Using a RA-970BX couple of changes to it, ad827 op amp/black gates std/panasonic low impedance caps thoughout, got a couple of 63V 10,000uF cerafines to lob in soon aswell. It's full of dampening sheets, thinking about rewiring a input direct to a decent 50K pot to miss out all the relays ect. Already slammed a ballanced shielded power cable on aswell, gunna bias it to class A in the next few days aswell. Sits happily on a lack type of board like torlyte with oak cones underneath. [it's ex demo, opamp and blackgates were already there, unscrupulous dealers :)]

CD players a marantz cd63se full of dampening sheets it sits on oak cones aswell, tons of filtering all the way through it X2/CMC on the input, rectifiers been kitted with schottky's and bypassed pana FC's, every power input for every stage pretty much has a choke on it, reclocked it with a superclock. IC's re-fitted with MLCC's/OS-CONS. Analouge signal filters been kitted with polystyrene 1% caps. OP-amps replaced with bb2604's. ATM im pissing about with the analouge stage trying to get it sounding a little nicer. The circuits been simplified aswell

Speaker cables are 2m 54*24AWG solid core copper insulated cables braided up, each side, terminated with spades and silver solder. Interconect is a van-der-hul d300 mk111 hybrid, so far all my attepts at a interconnect havent suited me, while this is not exactly high resolution its balance suits me. looking for a nice bit of OFC/teflon insulated coax to try if any of you know somewhere ;)

Speakers a B&W CDM1nt's sitting on kudos s100's ;) filled with rounded filtered dried sand

Racks a apollo aria 4 shelf

    Soundboards a audigy2

Got loads more to do to it but i've been buissy as hell

(got a old RA 400 with a pair of cresta 2's hooked up2 the tele in the front room aswell) big :thumb: to rotel

yeah, used the chris van haus recipee, sounds better than most of the other cat 5 recipee's on the net and the dynamics of the cable piss on the rest. Picked up a bin bag full of cat5 from a massive library networking job i was on years ago. So if not including my time it didnt cost me jack :)

Wouldnt mind trying OFC/TEFLON 24AWG for the cables, been scouting around various stores but the stuff's kinda pricey.

if im using the pc, a pair of JVC HA-D570D head phones or some
Altec Lansing 221 if im wanting some really bassy sounds.

If im watching a film or playing the ps2/Xbox its a Cambridge Audio A1mk3 with some 30 year old sony speakers(dont know model number) connected with door bell wire.
