Simple question, which slots do i have to use to use dual channel memory? Theres 2 slots together and then 1 seperate. Cheers
The seperate slot and any of the others please carol Serioulsy, 1 in the seperate then stick one in one of the others
can you put a 512 stick in the seperate slot, and 2 x 256 sticks in the other two, and run it in dual channel still?
IIRC yes, there was a thread on this not long ago.... It runs in DC, but not sure if one of the sticks runs in single channel???? <edit> discussion was over at Overclockers, not here...... heres the thread http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=296537</edit>
DC works aslong as you use 2 the same sticks in the right slots if you add a third it wont run in DC anymore since ur pc now has to work with 3 sticks so if it would still use dc on those 2 sticks than wverything will get messed up since the third stick laggs behind and all stuff that doesnt makes it work guess you have to wait for tripplechannel for that Butsome intel boards that have 4 mem slots can work in dc if you put in 4 sticks with the same size. btw dc will never work with sticks of different sizes
