Do you have a firewall (could be windows built in firewall) that could be blocking certain ports? If so it is probably only allowing port 80 which is used for web browsing etc.

Is the modem just a modem or does it have a built in router - there may be some settings to change the allowed ports if it is a router.

A bit more information about the problem (ie windows version, firewall info) is needed to give more advice.

Hope this helps and welcome to the forums!

USB modem = software = prolly what's stuffing you up. Check if there's any configuration shiz. And next time buy an ethernet modem/router :p

I'd say either wan (most likely) or lan. If you post screenshots of all the prime suspects I'm sure we could figure it out - don't worry about image quality so long as the text is readable.

    1. Try setting "DHCP client" to enabled so you can get an IP from AOL.

    2. FFS please restrict HTTP server access to "LAN" so that people on the internet can't connect to your router's config pages!

i had a quick google of your modem, i found this on the zoom website, dunno if its any use to you but it seems like the right thing.

    PPP Half Bridge
If your ADSL service provider uses PPPoE or PPPoA encapsulation, you can enable PPP Half Bridge, which mode bypasses the NAT protocol. When you enable this mode, it passes the WAN IP address (issued by the ADSL service provider) though the ADSL modem to the remote user's computer. This will allow games and applications like NetMeeting and MSN Messenger to authenticate an IP address.

To enable PPP Half Bridge, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Zoom Web Console (http://10.0.0.2), click Advanced Setup, and click the Misc Configuration button.
    2. If you are using PPPoA encapsulation, from the PPP Half Bridge drop-down menu, select Enable.
    3. Click the Save Changes button and then the Write Settings to Flash and Reboot button.
    4. Now you must change encapsulation setting from the default the PPPoE LLCSNAP to PPPoA VCMUX. To do this, click Basic Setup. Then from the Encapsulation drop-down menu, select PPPoA VCMUX.
    5. Click the Save Changes button and then the Write Settings to Flash and Reboot button.
    6. Verify that your TCP/IP properties are set for DHCP. You may need to release and renew the IP address.

hope this is of use
