brilliant. want... more... pics... cant stop myself reaching at your wiring, it needs some loom real fast
Just give me some time. I hate it too. I'm going to have to get a night job at Wal-Mart just to fund this! Speaking of Wal-Mart... "Oh no! I'm out of heavy duty cut off wheels!" "Better run to the local Entrance(Wal-Mart) store and pick some up. Luckilly I got there just in time to thwart the out of stock Ninja." So the PSU was just being a pain. It was now way too big to fit properly with the CPU heatsink in place. I traced the old hole and moved it to its new location. The rest of the fan grill will be getting some metal and plexiglass treatment for mounting the cold cathode light switch. The old hole will be cut up as well for installing the second 120mm fan and duct work. The idea behind this setup is that cool air comes in the side flowing to the CPU fan/heatsink. From there it gets sucked up and out the exhuast fan. (You can also see where I have hidden one of the cold cathodes behind a cross beam.)
Bump and... Some sad news. I haven't been able to work on the project for the past week now. I've been busy with my job and sewing together a kimono. The only things I really need to finish up is some time, duct work, and a video card. So please hang in there.
Come on , make this case a killer , make Antec proud! Really nice case ! Must get my ass out and finish my case...... I got tired of it for some reason but now , when I see your case I remember it was quite fun to modd! Good luck
Sorry everyone... I've been busy working and sewing together this kimono. One person went to the Army and the other girl got herself fired. So I'm the only one working every night and weekend. We're hiring two new girls this week so I'll finally get some decent time off! The money is good though. The good money is also good since I need it to buy the video card for this setup.
Brilliant PSU mod - I haven't seen that one before and it gives me ideas for my first mod (still in the thinking process). Oh, can we see some pics of the side window open & close. Like a before & after shot so we can get a good look of the two and start comparisons. Keep up the good work (and ideas)
Wow, all I can say is that this mod is looking pretty damn sweet! I really like the cherry red color on the case! I can't wait to see the finished product!
Usually i dont love red but this is looking so nice man keep up the good work... Love the window door
Not my color at all but it looks excellent! You did a great job painting it! And I might just have to... oh whats the word... borrow with no intent to return... that modularization idea with the PSU plugs! With a slight twist, but that's that. What's with that Wal-mart? Is it just too new for a sign? I'm hoping to see some bondo or whatever (btw... where can I get that stuff??) over that half of a fan grill in the back. And speaking of the back... what are your plans for it? A good polishing? More red?
Here are the two pictures I have right now. http://forums.bit-tech.net/showpost.php?p=598620&postcount=24 I will get more later this week. The door does open really wide, I would say around 100 degrees. Plain Wal-Mart being remodelled into a Super Wal-Mart. That is why! The fan grill is being taken care of. I am making a switch/rheostat cover to place there. I want to polish the back, but I have a good bit more cutting there to do first. The good news, we have hired two new people and I have Wednesday, Thursday, AND Friday off!
FINALLY! Cut out that pesky fan grill. Cut out a face plate from steel for mounting switches and rheostats. Checking for fit here. Note the rounded corners and bevelled edges. I love the bench grinder. Mounted, etc. More metal cleaning to come.
Nice, When you get time it's just a case of matching all of the metal to the same colour (unless it's gonna' be spray painted) and it'll look just fine. I've noticed more and more that people are locating their power switch on the reverse of their cases (not a bad idea), and it helps with accidental on/off's.
Well, its actually for the cathodes. I never really had a problem with case and accidental hitting of the buttons. They are recessed nicely into the front. As for matching the metal... I'm getting into contact with a chromer for the chassis.
