    Ghetto mod by Lage
    Sunlight! *arg* BEGONE FOUL BEAST!

Ok, so I was getting rather annoyed by the sunlight that is/was hitting my screen from ~12:00 to ~15:00.

Here is a picture of the sunlight. Look at that, djeezuz! Hideous!

One more shot of the window. Look at the top-right corner, there's the sun. Darn sun :(:(:( :waah: :waah:

    Step #1: Planning
Ok, so I needed some material to work with. I looked around and found a blanket that would suit this project perfectly!
    So I now have:
    A blanket!
    The window!

This is a shot of the blanket I found.

    Step #2: Starting the mod
I now had all the equipment I needed, time to get modding! :dremel: (NB: There was no actual dremeling involved!)
I looked at the window some, and found this:
You can see an opening in the "lock mechanism" (highlighted in red for all you smart people out there!).
That is where I will fasten the blanket.

This is the blanket locked in its position, looks nice so far :D Still too much sunlight getting through though! :( :waah: :waah:

    Step #3: Closure
Now I needed to "lock" the blanket in some way. So I came up with this crazy idea that I would just lay it outside of the window!
Bear(sp?) with me now, this might sound crazy but I will have to let it pass for now!
Ok, I have now done that! And it looks sweeeeet :D:D I'm so proud.
This is the solution I went with. Pretty neat, eh?^^

    Step #4: The finished product
So now I'm done, pretty sad :( Was having a ton-of-fun doing this mod.
Here are some pictures of the final mod, enjoy!^^
    [IMG]
Same picture as the one above, I rock!

This is how the screen looks now! Look mom, no sunshine!
It looks like there's some sunshine, but that's just my smile reflecting in the monitor!

I am really happy this mod turned out well!
Sorry for the bad quality pictures, but my computer can't handle good quality :(
A big thanks to everyone who has supported me and given me tips'n'hints!
You know who you are! Cheers, laters!

If you took this serious, you should be shot!

I thought the blanket was kind of dull, so I tried to solder some El-wire onto it :dremel:
But the darn thing wouldn't stick. :wallbash: :wallbash:
    Any ideas?

Can you overclock this "blanket" in any way? I'm sure you'll get better light-blockage to surface area ratio if you just bump up the modifier by 40t/cm.

And yes, blue LED's would work good with this, maybe a cathode or two, maybe get it anodized......

    Try spraypainting it black.

Hey, that might actually work and help decrease lightoutput! I said something useful AND funny, that's just way awesome

Dude, wheres the rust? This is obviously a copy of Ikea's curtain mod - these sloppy wannabe reproductions are all too common now, I'm not impressed.

I've tinted all the windows in my room. 2 layers of 2 1/2% tint really dark have to use a light in the middle of the day.
