    well i got a XP 2600+ barton axda2600dkv4d yesterday and an abit NF7-s 2.0 with 2* 512mb pc3200 twinmos ram...Ram timings are on auto(2.5-3-3-8)

at 1.65 vcore settings( abitEQ reads 1,62v in windows) i cant get her up to 183 fsb (2,1 ghz) prime95 stable ... with 185 fsb prime 95 gives errors within 5-10 mins

@1.8 vcore settings ( windows reads 1,74 vcore in everest home edition, formerly aida32) i can get her up to 190 fsb at the moment prime 95 stable for 1,5 hours so far

i got a coolermaster hsf rated to 3200+, a 80mm casefan and a 120mm psu fan sucking air away from the processor area
load temps are 54C at the moment with a case temp of 33 and room temps about 25C

cpu temps are 1C higher when i put my psu fan to max ... perhaps because the clearance between the HSF and PSU is about 5 mm i get some turbulence...
ive got an aopen with bottom 120 mm fan with fan speed regulation on back of psu1 ( AO350-12apnf)

    Question is
    are these voltages/frequencies about normal?
and the undervolting, is that a motherboard thing or a PSU thing ?, anything i can do about it or should i just forget about it ?

I would've expected it to clock better than that tbh - so many people get their 2500+'s up to 200bus that you start to take it for granted.

The undervolting will probably be your psu - and I wouldnt worry about it too much. Unless you're willing to buy an expensive one, it happens. (But if you're thinking of spending 70 quid on a psu, you might as well get a better processor and not bother o/c'ing!)

Might it be the ram? Lots of people used to have problems with twinmoss on nforce2 boards, not sure if thats still true or if they fixed it.

well i'm not done yet. my goal is the 200 mhz bus... but i dont want to go above 60C load to reach it ... but at stock speed the load temp was 44 so i dont think i'll get above that( will get close though)

    this psu is already a heavy upgrade considering i had a generic 300W psu with a 10,7 V 12+ V line

it might be, but i can't check other ram, the only other pc3200 sticks around are in my dad's server and i dont think he enjoys me ripping his machine apart
as far as i know that is twinmos as well...

we'll see how far i can push things...
got a chip rated to 85C and temp protection set at 75 so should be safe enough...

The undervolt is more likely to be due to your mobo ( I read that the NF7 undervolts the core...) As for your overclock, it sure isn't the most impressive one but it's better than nothing and I'm this CPU will go farther thant that! Good luck!

    ATM i am testing 11.5 * 200 @ 1,93Vcore settings (1.89 reading)

error after 4 mins , lets try 1.95
and temps are up to 36C case and 59,5C CPU

This is getting kinda hot IMO and 1,95Vcore also is on the high side if you ask me... did you test your ram with memtest to see if it is the problem?

i tested it with the program found here ( http://hcidesign.com/memtest/ )

at a fsb of 200 mhz and a 200% coverage it gave no errors
but i'll keep running it tonight to be sure ... i'll post on it in the morning

i can get my 2500 to 2233mhz at stock volts

The under volting is a generic NF7 thing.

You should try for 2-2-2-11 memory timings, set the vDIMM to 2.9v in the BIOS. Also enabled "CPU Interface" in the BIOS.

The reason you aren't getting as high bus speeds as most 2500+ owners is that the 2500+ and 3200+ have the same multiplier... 2.2GHz is an easily achievable target, so for the 2500+, just changing the FSB to 200MHz effectively gives 3200+ (2.2GHz). Where the 2600+ has a higher multi, but the same core, so is less likely to give such high front side bus speeds, as each step in front side bus results in a larger total clock speed than it would with the 2500+. Meaning that 200mhz FSB will be over 2.2GHz, which seems to be a limit with many Bartons.

tbh, its just all over the place. at 1.95v, mine spikes up to 1.97 and drops to 1.93 once in a while. mainly sitting at 1.94.
