    What clocks you getting?

I got R350 core and Hynix RAM.

Core is kinda lame.. 437MHz max. artifact free in ATI tool. But i can get 405MHz on the memory :D

VGA silencer should help cool the core, as it will get higher without artifacts when first turned on, but only 437 after heavy gaming.

ATI tool says i have an R350 core. It's infact wrong.

I got an R360 core and Hynix ram, so i am a lucky boy indeed. Flashed to XT fine.

1337modderman, i suspect you have an R360 core too.

    people, people. :read:
I already said this in posts 7 and 10, but here goes again:

ATI TOOL CANNOT TELL what core you have on your card.
It simply reads the BIOS ID of the card and tells you what it says.

If you flashed a R350 Core card to an XT (would get you into windows mebbe, but nothing more) ATI Tool would say you had an R360 because it is reading that info.
To test, simply use radedit to change your stock bios to read R360. ATITool will be fooled into thinking you had an XT Core.
The ONLY way to tell is to lift off the heatsink and HAVE A LOOK.

I have tried all versions of atitool on about 8 different 9800PROs and in EVERY instance it said R350 even though 4 of them were R360s.
When the 360s were flashed to an XT BIOS, ATITool said R360.

    @1137modderman:

The core you want on these cards is an R350 and NOT the R360.
Granted, flashing the R360 to an XT will give 300ish points increase over using a PRO BIOS, but the R350s tend to clock MUCH higher than the R360s and will therefore bench far better when overclocked to the max than most R360s overclocked to the max. Part of the reason is that the R360s on a PROPER 9800XT Run at 1.8V, but a 9800PRO card runs it at 1.7V so it is SUBSTANTIALLY undervolted.
Of course there are exceptions to every rule. Some R350s cant clock worth spit and barely hit 400 and some R360s can hit 500+

1337modderman.. you should follow my guide on how to flash the card. Bootable CD? Floppy....?

And Flymo, i plan to voltmod my card to the 1.8, and possibly 1.9v+ to reach 500MHz+ as it does 443MHz clean at stock volts and stock cooling.

Screw this. I give up :wallbash:

With 1.9v going through that card, you BETTER be on watercooling.
The 443 means very little stock. I have seen cards do that (had one did 456 clean @ stock) and only one of them did 500 voltmodded and watercooled.
if you hit 470+ , think yourself lucky
