Demotivated = Me

Hmm you mnetion that work is the only thing you can tolerate or whatever, but still you dont like it, well tbh my work sucks I am a student and I have a part time job, one day a week, packing stuff for a company, so I set myself goals at work, today I will pack the most I have ever packed, or today I will talk to the guys and do the least work I have ever done, It sounds stupid but it gives a point to get through the day, that and eating chochalate. And at the end of the day I am that much closer to the car I want, Which is another goal I am curently working at. Like some of them said above, goals, they are a biggy.

I didn't mean to make this a "I've got nothing to live for" thread, I just needed somewhere to vent. I'm graduating this year, and I don't know what to do with my life. Everyone who knows me (including myself) knows that I could do pretty much whatever I want to. I just can't think of a big goal to reach for. I'm trying to find one though.

I feel neutral towards work BTW. It allows me to work with my hands and daydream at the same time.

You have an able body and mind, the sky is the limit. Sure in life you need to do some really crappy stuff, soemtimes for years, but it passes eventually and it can't take up 100% of your time each day, although it might feel like it takes up 99% of your energy. Don't get wound up on thinking that you're on your own, tourtured artist, no-one else knows what you're going through.

Get yourself out there, and get doing stuff, nothing ventrued nothing gained. As other people have mentioned, there are people without an able body and/or mind, count yourself as one of the lucky ones. :bleh:

I know exactly how you feel 19. When i was graduating i had no idea what i wanted to do. I had always done great at school, b-cuz i was a good student, but when it came to the so-called "real world", i had no idea what i wanted to do. I knew i was expected to go to college and get a good job, but i didn't know what for, and had lost that really easy sense of direction you have from high school. My job at the time was horrid, mineless dummy work being yelled at by drunks, and i get bored with any job quickly so even a better job after school didn't seem like it last very long.

Best advice i can give you, now that i'm a year past that point, is this:
**** everything. Do what you want to do. Quit your job, find one somewhere where you really like the ppl and the work. If your going to college, take the courses that you wanna take, and work towards what you really wanna do in life. All my life i'd been saying i wanted to be an engineer or something similar, cuz based off how i did in school i thought that's what i was 'sposed to be. Now that i've really stepped back and thought about what i enjoy doing, i've done a 180 and am gonna work towards being a journalist for technological magazines. Do what makes you happy, and constantly set yourself goals, even if there ones you know you have no intention of achieving.

 

I have no idea what I want to do either, i'm just going with it and making the important decisions when I come to them

 

Felt that way since my ex left me... feeling like that is probably the reason I get drunk about 4 times a week. O.k. my job as a promoter helps there since I have to be in clubs all the time and get all the **** for free but none the less if I were happy with my life and generally would see a purpose in anything I do I suppose I wouldn't drink so damn much I don't even get a hang-over anymore...

hey, i just graduated this year, and let me tell you, i think that there's a lot to look forward to.

i mean, you say you can do anything, and college is something, and it right now it seems great. none of my friends are going to the same college, but hey, it doesn't bother me, i know i'll meet lots of new people and make new friends.

do you have a "significant other" ? If not, do you have a close best friend? And if not that either, then maybe you should see if you can get to know your friends better. it is quite funny to know some of the stuff your friends have done or wish they could do, because everyone sees the world in a different way.

hope you find a goal to reach for, i'm sure it will come soon.

 

Well, the depression/demotivation has passed, I still don't have a goal, but I'm looking.

 

boy oh boy. you think to have nothing to live for?? You should be greatful, jsut because you are bored doesnt mean you dont have anything to live for... I feel like a tired bored sack of sh-t all day, but sorry, I dont wanna die... You have your family to live for... if anything, you should be greatful you live, people die in masses, and yet, your here bi-ching you are useless. Your not useless just bored... Im 12 and I know this BS, forget being demotivated... thanks for the laugh.... if you need a goal, run a marathon for cancer...

 

So, from your few years you wish to prepose upon us that you have infinate wisdom? You have much to learn about life yet. I know what it's like to not feel like I have a purpose, and no, I'm not "bitching" as you put it, but for a very long time I've been "ready" to die. I can't explain it. Something in me doesn't want to live anymore, it doesn't want to exist. But yet whenever I try to kill my-self, something saves me, something pulls me back. And sorry for the cliche, but I've done preatty much it all. I've got scars on my wrists, I've tried to OD on pills, I've drank amounts of propane (and don't you dare post back with something stupid like "but you kan't drink propine!!!"), I've thrown myself into the paths of cars, hell at one point I even threw myself off a bridge. Yet no matter what I do, nothing will end it. So I've just given up and accepted my fate to suffer. Thats why you'll see me getting bashed consistantly yet get up and keep doing what I'm doing without showing a sign of getting hit. Mine life is hell, and hell it shal forever be. And during this hell, my only plan, my only goal is to somehow change something, somebody, everybody in my own way. I don't care about material possesions, yeah sure, I've got style and I pay into these things, but what else is money good for? I deck myself out, but I still have a rich soul, and I still meditate 2-3 hours every day to maintain enough mental reprieve to keep about my daily activities in such a way as not to give in to the feeling of darkness.


Thats how I deal with it. I know what it's like to not want to live, I know what it's like to want to die, I know what he's feeling. You can bash me all you want, flame me or do whatever, but remember, it's my life, it's my hell, I'm not forcing you to read or live any of this.

 

Malfoleo, why have you got to be so damn offensive to everyone? fg0d made a really valid point. Even more valid if you look at his age. Why the hell must you instantly condemn him? It seems to me he knows far more about life than you do if what you wrote is true.

If you want to die so badly, I'm sure there's a fair few forum members who wouldn't mind a bit of euthanasia...

In all seriousness dude, and to be frankly honest, I have found that when I'm feeling depressed I need to get outside myself and do something for someone else.

My goal in life is to make a difference, no matter how big or small. I want to leave a legacy, instead of just living through the life allotted to me until I die.

So, um, I think I'll end this one before I get all philosophical and all that jazz
