Graphics 9800pro to 9800XT BIOS flash guide

    i've just read Rojaks pot guide on XT to pro but i'm still non the wiser on how to see if i've got an XT PCB.

    do you mean the core(defo an R360,the ram samsung part number K40263238E-GC2A. batch number 404 the magical sapphire one.)or the actual PCB with all the little resistors on?

    How do you mean what do i mean?

    The flash should work on all R360 cores, regardless of PCB.

    Doesn't this card run hotter when flashed to 9800XT?

    my PCB is missing FM63 thus its an pro PCB.once i get a working floppy drive i'm going to try my luck with the flash.

    the thing i was looking for was on the other side.its chip number FM63 and its what monitors the temp of the core.but my pro doesn't have it :waah:

    1337modderman.. there is an obvious difference in the PCBs.

    The temp monitor is only on the 256mb XT, and the 256mb pro which has the R360 core, and is on the XT PCB, as it is EXACTLY the same card as the 256mb XT. You can only unlock the temp monitor on the 9800pro w/256mb.

    you're going to have to take the cooler off to find out what cooler you have.its burnt into the Die under the cooler.

    Was asking so I can be sure it will be moddable.

    Nevermind, i just thought from what people had said in this thread it was kinda obvious what cores the Sapphire 9800pros had..

    But i suppose no one directly said "Sapphire 9800pros currently are shipping with the R360 core".

    Does the OverDrive and temp meter still function after flashing to a XT??

    No, unless you have a 256mb version, which is, as i said, indentical to the XT.

    Nevermind....I just sold my 9800PRO@XT and I'll order a X800 within the next few days.
