I'm sure I'm not alone in this. I've been collecting CDs for years now, and my collection is vast. Not only with all of the Music CDs I have, but also the plethora (Word of the Day Calendar!! ) of computer CDs that I have: legal, illegal (Shhhh), copies, backups, etc., not to mention PS, PS2 and Xbox. Too MANY! I can go through my collection and remove/condense it down to probably about 75% of what I currently have, but that still leaves over 200 CDs. I've been looking for an easy way to store all of them. Right now they are just thrown all over my desk. I was wondering what everyone uses for their CD storage? I don't want something that takes up a lot of space, like towers/pieces of furniture. I don't keep jewel cases, but sometimes need to keep the inserts for CD Key purposes. I want something that will keep them organized too. KDS makes a $100 (US) motorized CD tower thingy. That's not what I want. Takes up too much space. I recently found a sort of filing system for CDs. Basically paper cases with a tab on it, but the cases just seem too damn flimsy. Any ideas or a pre-made solution?
200+ space CD wallet? I have a nice Caselogic one which stores all my legit games/manuals (cdkeys on manuals) and all my movies on divx etc, only takes up the size of 4 cds in a square pattern by 50 odd cds thick
I use one of those 200 CD binders. I got lucky and it was on sale for $3. I put all the CD's that I might never need again in there and I put a label on it called "Archives". About every 3 months or so I will open it up and get something out that I thought I would never use again, like my copy of Need for speed 3.
I have over 600 CDs, a mix of Audio CDs, DVDs, VCDs, data backups, PS1, PS2, Software, Drivers, PC Games, etc etc. I keep most of them in those 100 spindle tubs you get with blank cds. I also have 4 200 CD capacity holder things that people have already mentioned. My DVDs are all on a piece of furniture, my audio CD's are all on wall racks, and I have a cd tower type cd storage unit that holds 250 discs for my PC games. They are a nightmare.
You have to have a mod chip in your ps2 to play back-up copies right? Could be very usefull seeing as alot of scratches are appearing
The only bad thing about disk binders is the potential for scratching of CD's. If you are going to keep it in your house and just use it as storage then you dont have much to worry about... but it you are taking CD's out alot and putting them back in and hauling the case around your asking for destroyed CD's. Little bits of sand or dirt may get in the pages and then become in beded in the soft fabric they use to safeguard the CD's. Once its in there its pretty much impossible to get it out. I learned that the hard way and now just take my CD's and burn them then listen to them. The originals all stay at home in my 200 CD binder and numerous stacks of CD's i havent gotten around to organizing yet... Just some input... good luck =) I feel your pain
I have an enormous amount of cd's which are spread accross a 264 binder, a 104 binder, a 64 binder, a 36 binder, 5 100cd spindles, 6 50cd spindles, and a 35cd spindle. I also have jewel cases and sleeves with cd's everywhere. And getting more every day. Might invest in some of those wall thingies, they look pretty cool.
Uhm We have this box, (metal), wich holds 390cd's. It just little thingy's that holds 2cd's (one on each side), and they are held in place by 2 bars (they 'hang' on those bars). The box is only : 22cm deep: 19.5cm high and 45cm long. Thats about the 'smallest' cd storage I can think off. U can't use the boxes anymore though... But u can put a piece of paper behind it with the working cd-key. They don't cost that much.. I think I paid about 10€ for one.. Good luck L
It's actually a combination of pr0n, movies, tv shows, music, data, ps2 games, and pc games. And I forgot to add the 12 disc visor thingy for my truck, and my 16 disc PS2 binder. Not all of these are completely full, mind you, but full enough to count.
Haha, very nice man, very nice. Must be a pain in the ass though to have to go and find a file, unless you keep everything very organized and labeled
Are you kidding? A quarter of the damn things have no writing, label, nothing. It's a serious pain when I have to find something. Grab a stack of un-labeled cd's and start churning 'em through the drive. Even when the cd is labeled, takes forever to find it.
