For the UK, try Technology supplies or glowshop
They ain't gonna have that stuff at B&Q!! The other option is to try a local sign makers. Maybe they could give you some offcuts cheap?

    Which tint of grey?

I'm looking into tinted plexi to cover a VFD and IR module on a HTPC. Which color of grey wuold any of you recommend? I've found two different transmissive levels (13% and 27%) and I'm not sure which will give adequate results. I want the VFD to be visible, and I don't want any interference with the IR module either.

    Any thoughts?

Edit: The most widely available is the 13%, so I'm assuming that's what most of the modding community uses.

On the subject of plastic's can any one help me find some mirror finish plastic sheeting to line the bottom of my pc case.
Saw a guy do it on a modding site as a way to hide fan wires, thought it would also help direct more light into the back of the case. :dremel:

    any suggestions welcome
i did do a :search: but most of the results where for large amounts :waah:

Another good place to try in the UK is www.modelshop.co.uk.

They stock the smaller size sheets of acrylic, and also lots of different section types. Reasonable prices and delivery.

I spotted some blue "Light Gathering Rod" and just had to buy some! Basically it's acrylic square rod with a blue tint - like mega optical fibre. Great for lighting effects.

    :D
