http://www.badgerpackaging.com/heavymetal/heavymetal.wmv Just some quick raw footage of HM running around. Corg8d
Man, Heavy metal was already one of my alltime favorites. That thing is unbelievably AWESOME In the video when you started it up, woooooo!! Some neon bottom lightning or headlights would be super!
It was designed from the beginning with this type of abuse in mind. I have yet to realize any damage from running it around. Corg8d
HM turns like a tank basically. If you want to make a left, the right wheels are at full speed while the lefts are going slower or backwards (depending on how hard the turn is). For a right it's just the opposite. The drivetrain is 4 wheel drive, which is how it's able to make those 180s while in place.
Corg8d man you really friggin Trust me you guys that weren't at the 2003 Winter CPL C3 you missed getting to see *HEAVY METAL* the beast and master of all computers move around live in front of your eyes, the video is good but no where near as good as seeing it in person. Hey *Corg8d* have you checked on those rather large heatsinks attached to your dual Xeons to make sure nothing bad is happening with the weight of those to massive heatsinks being shifted/slung around with you doing the 360degree spins and coming to abrupt halts when coming out of rotation? Remember what you learned in science class about centripetal force and how it affects weighted objects namely those heavy chunks of metal called heatsinks which you just so happen to have two of. I loved the video and can't wait to show it off to my friends that thought I was full of sh*t when I told them that HEAVY METAL actually doubled from a computer as the worlds most expensive PC/Remote Controlled Vehicle. Hey *Corg8d do you think that you will be able to make it to the TXGF (Texas Gaming Festival) ? ? ? PJ
I saw the video a few days ago. (Posted on a news site I think) Awsome, I forget how much it weighs, but that is some serious horsepower. I also hope to see you at TXGF, I can make some special arrangements if you need extra space for that beast. (Modders can bring two PC's if needed, one modded, one gamer PC)
As I said before it looks ace corg8d . It makes some rather worrying noises when it slams to a halt tho
That's exactly what I mean, that sounds almost like the centripetal force that the heatsinks have gained by HEAVY METAL doing 360's and then halting to a stop has ripped them right off the board and then when you take off again it sound like they are slaming around inside the case. PJ
Oh that's not too far, I'm out by Waukesha. Maybe if I ever get out that way I'll give you guys a call or something.
If you ever want to see it in person, feel free to stop by. However, in its current location I won't be ably to drive it around for you. Hwy 45 north to Paradise, exit east, head east on Paradise past hwy P (main st) to the second right (after the stoplight) you can take (Stonebridge road). After turning onto Stonebridge you will see the sign for Badger Packaging on the left. Just ask for Jim Anderson at the front desk, they are familiar with the project of thier psycho geek president.
*loud crack as jaw hits floor* wow! that's really amazing corg8d! i've seen the pics on twisted mods but this is really spectacular. Nice to see you on bit too. Thought you were only on the twisted mods forums.
OH MY #$*&ING $#*! THAT WAS CRAZY! VERY NICE! What was the pricetag on that beast? Have you tried to get it to clock mph? I'd guess at least 10-15 minimal because that thing was FLYING! So, when's the next video, I wanna see some mobo smashage! Props on all the hard work! -Rob
