I finally got rid of the dredded nova, been stereotyped too much and needed somthing a little more reliable.

Here it is , slightly bigger engine, a 1.1L

    Carb or Single point injection?

I had a K reg 1.1i with the 5 speed gearbox until some arse holes nicked it - was a 5 door as well but it had the wider steel wheels - really good in the corners

Having driven both a 1.2L Nova and a Fiesta 1.4 I did actually prefere the handing on the Nova.

Still it is down to personal preference and it does look like a very tidy car for the money.

There's no ECU on the basic single point injection. If recall correctly it uses solinoids as I thought mine was carbed at first.

The only downer is the insurance group is quite high for what they are...

I hope you enjoy plenty of hassle free motoring

p.s. get the wider steel wheels :naughty:

The nova did handle better but this is slightly faster, ill never forget my nova as i sold it to this lass down the street,

Lorquis thats my mums N reg 1.3 saphire slightly differant colour.

4 spped box aint too bad, i learnt in a 5 speed, the nova was a 4 speed so it aint much differance,

jetsetjimbo it says on the ford computer when i went in today for a touch up pen "HCS 1.1 2V CARB" so i dont really know, how do you tell where are the solinoids?

Oh the towbar , always handy you know, i'm not gunna mod it. no point as its tidy.

Towbars are brilliant if someone shunts you from behind you get hardly any damage and their car gets torn to shreds.

AWK3 - I think they only did them K reg(ish) onwards... the single point injection ones have the 5 speed boxes, they're more comfortable for crusing at speed but you have to work them harder to keep them on the boil - we'll as boiling as 1198cc car ever gets :hehe:

Just incase you don't know, there's a ford fiesta owners club, http://www.fiestaclubgb.co.uk/ IIRC from when I was a member you get reduced priced spares and insurance for being a member. Oh yeah and a newsletter twice yearly.

I used to have a car with the same engine as yours, mine was the Ghia model though, Nice economical engine though, never had any problems in the 18 months I had it.

"I'd rather push my ford than drive anything else"

Can't say that now, cause I drive a FIAT and a Vectra :-(
