The metallic black he is using makes the overall color look gray. In addition to the sparkles, scratches shouldn't be AS noticeable. Then again, he did manage to throw a metal dart at that case and chip off a nice little chunk of paint before...

Nothing in his path is scratch-proof... or dent-proof... or crack-proof... or shock-proof...

I could keep going, but for his sake, I'll stop now :D :p

Well, I clearcoated the inside of the door, and I sanded it nice and flat, then busted out the rubbing compound (3M Rubbing Compound II or something like that) and polishing compound (Magellan's Show Car Glaze). I did 3 passes of each compound.

The end result was, if I may say so myself, beautiful :)

Here are some pics, let me know what you think...

This image shows what the paintjob looks like without being sanded or anything. Just the metallic black paint nothing else.

This is what the paint looks like with a good layer of clearcoat on it. Clearcoat hasn't been sanded yet.

These pictures show how it looks after the clearcoat has been sanded, and the rubbing and polishing compounds have been used.

Oh, and now that I know for sure what the end result is like with clearcoat and rubbing/polishing, I have sanded the outside of the door and clearcoated, and it has now been ~24 hours, so I will wait one more day before sanding that clearcoat and rubbing/polishing it...

I would have done the main part of the case too, but I need more Dupli-Color clear coat paint and it's tough to find around here. I will probably try to get it tomorrow, maybe today, we'll see.

    feedback? :)

Yes... That case looks really sweet... It is kind of bisnesmans computer, if you say something about the design...
