WOW very cool mod, *looks at old motherboard, Ready to subject it to tourchure* great work man kepp it up
i'm guessing its cause ppl use it for chroming and the likes (chroming is pretty much getting stoned from inhaling paint fumes from a bottle)
I dont think I would try that unless I had about 14,000 buckets of calming drugs and herbs etc. Probably s*** myself halfway through.
lol i think most of us would, unless it was on an old motherboard that we sould not give a s*** about
on the topic of slot painting, why not just put tape over the top of the whole slot? That would do it. Or get those vantec slot protectors...
u can get special heat transferant paint, that will infact help ur mobo and components to disperse heat. btw didnt u do this pc about a year ago now?
although it lacks color, one thing that would work for paint is Silcone Conformal Coating. It is a clear spray that is used to treat circuit boards to make them water resistant, like in automotive use, etc. Since it is designed to be sprayed directly on circuit board, no problems, but the best part: it contains a UV indicator....everything it coats will glow purple like a white shirt does under blacklight. you can get it at most electronic supply stores ( its about $12 US a spray can ) heres a sample of what one company makes: http://www.cir.com/mgchemicals/coatings/coatings.htm
If you do, it ruins the whole thing. If the entire top of the slot is covered, it will not get painted, thus leaving it as that ugly off-white color. When you drop paper or tape into the slot and cover the pins, it all gets painted and it still works. So, any news, lamcdonald? I painted mine (link), and it is still working fine. - tf
I want to try this for my next mod To see a system working thats been painted makes me feel a little more safe about doing it ::EDIT:: you have the same case as me Do you know who makes it?
Looks very nice. I'd be afraid of frying something, and on my budget that could put me back years of can collecting
