Hey, Yesturday i got really bored so ive decided to make a cd lamp, i know its been done before but im going to make mine a little bit different. If anyone has te links to the other ones on Bit-tech i would love you to post them. This is what im looking it, a hextagonal base made of mdf and covered in aluminum checkerplate, with 2x5mm alu. rods and 2x10mm alu. rods with decorative ends to hold the cd's in place...i did try to super glue the cds together but this just warped them and i think this will look better. I will then be threading a 10cm green ccfl down the middle and i have a metal cone to go on top...to hide the top of ccfl, and for decoration. I will be doing a log/guide when i get the components together. What do you think?
that is kick a$$ man, ive always been into alternative lamps, ive got one with a chimney cap for a shade.
i did before CD clock CDlamp computer case by using 1500CDs and more and more i will post pictures later when i go to home i am holiday now.
looks like itll be cool how many cds do you have? i expect youll need a good hundred or so. any thoughts on inverter placement? mine is in a cutout within the cds. this is mine hope it goes well, RoB edit: except my pics seem to be down....fixing soon
