Should I remove the window tint? It would look like this if I did. Keep in mind the inside is still a mess and untouched so it might look ugly, but picture a clean, painted, etc inside. But here it is with normal light.
Also here is the lcd I bought and am in the middle of modding. I am going to grab a electronic box for the circuit boards, etc. I already chopped off the power supply piece and attached a male molex to it. Works great. Tested it with a portable dvd player. Starting to mod this into the front this week!
Thanks. No, what I did was design a window I wanted. Then I drew it on contact paper. From there I cut it out and stuck it to the inside of the side of the case. Then I spray painted the entire thing. Once dry I pealed it off and voila, simple as that.
cant make up my mind about the windowtint but i can make up my mind about the design and thats just plain GREAT
I like the window tint idea, kinda stealthy, can't wait to see this finished. Are you using the Sony brand monitor?
Yes, the rest is being painted black as well. There will be another window with tint on the top, and the other side will have another applique. Nope this is an offbrand. "intec" is the type. I cannot use the How To made for the sony one as its different so I am working on it myself. Getting the electronic box tonight to start the electronic work. Thanks for the feedback on the tint, I decided to go with it but get more lighting inside for when its on. Also in the mean time I am going to look for one shade less of a tint.
I saw the intec lcds on ebay for a fair price, if everything works out well for you i might just take a stab at one. anyways can't wait to see the next update
Yeah that's where I picked mine up from. So far so good but be careful because I almost killed it when I attached the male molex because I connected the cords backwards! Unlike the PS1 mod for the cig adapter the wires to connect are the opposite. I connected them at first and smoke came out of the first circuit board. I was about to cry. lol So I switched them and to my surprise it still worked!! That is coming this weekend when i get off work tomorrow. The front panel and lcd area is my next stuff to do.
