I was in two minds about that, by rusting them it might be just too much, but without the rust there is quite a contrast.
Are you sure you can give that to Valve , that product is simply priceless they will be well pleased, the rust is looking better than ever
greats thanks for greats comments guys Quote: Originally Posted by -N4cR-Stigma2K did you use a dremel to make those grooves in the surface? you know the places where it looks like the rust has eaten it's way into the case. first one was WAYYYY better with much more details... this one is kinda disappointing but good job piloux!
i feel the same way... the first case was much better. i think you should take off the door on the front panel and take the bottom part of the front panel off to do something amazing and maybe move the hl2 logo to the bottom of the front panel.. also i think the left window could be worked on more... i really love this case but its just that after seeing your original blackmesa case, this just doesnt live upto what i had imagined.
Hello Hi piloux, Just thought i'd stop by to say congratulations, I don't usually like all these old an rusty cases, but DAAAMN dude, this one is the daddy! It takes something special to keep me reading for 33 pages and this little beauty done the job alright! Keep up the good work, your one of the best in my book!! Shoom
I like this one better than blackmesa, (though it's hard to compare since they are really different). This one is better mostly since it's bit more "clean" not as dirty or trashy or overdone like the last one... This one i really stylish. i really like the Front panel with the grey color and slight rust here and there and the glowing HL2 logo... looks really nice... i would only hope for a brighter light behind the orange side panel window since it's quite dark in some shots... A friend of mine didn't like the wiring work but i think it's pretty good though bit stuffed but that doesn't matter. The Combine wall looks extremely sweet aswell. Keep up the good work.
After I've seen the last update .. I BELIEVE (... like a Mulder's phrase.. ;-) in impossibles ... Keep up the good work monsieur Piloux..
damn jokke_r, you almost litteraly said what i was about to say myself. close to the very same words too. but you are so right.. this case is asolutley awesome and i bet VALVe's gonna love it ! Piloux, i envy your creativity and most of all; the skillz to change and extreme idea into something as beautiful as this case!
Pilloux: Im curious have you been keeping valve up to date on this? What Im trying to ask is has Valve seen all this progress you've done? because if not they need to see "THE MONEY SHOT"
Incredible work as always Piloux. Thats the most realistic fake rust Ive seen yet, what did you use? and if you already answered that before My appologies. Will the "fins" be black as they are in the game?
@Piloux Mhhh... i used the same clearcoat (in a white bottle??) i think so. But the clearcoat changed the color of the rust. After that the rust seems to be a little bit shiny and dark red.
this is the clear coat I used and the dark copper color I paint on the wall, this color fit better with the general aspect/color than the dark I painted too the wiring and some yellow stripes inside the case
