Ive wired up my lcd the backlight doesnt work and i dont see anything on the screen but the contrast works and the reset so i know that its on
now im not an electronics expert or anything but i wired up a couple of lcds recently - i found that i got a similar problem when i wired the 1st one up with the 2 black cables (earth?) on the molex connector the wrong way around. Well, it worked just fine!!!
Be a little more specific. LED or CCFL backlight? Most LED backlights need a limiting resistor, check your displays datasheet. What eUphoria means is that you have to check whether you have the polarity of the backlight connected properly.
basicly nothing is coming up on the screen humm but the contrast is working and teh reset ill worry about the backlight later
Recheck your wiring if possible with a multimeter, LPT and software settings. Don't forget to ground pin 18 > 25 on your LPT connector. * Darn i have troubles too firing up a simple 4x40, can't stand it
1st: What kind of LCD? HD44780 character? SED1330 graphic? what size? 4x20? 256x64? This knid of thing helps us to determine what the problem is. The contrast works. But how? Do you mean that if you turn the pot, it goes from nothing to black, or nothing to black squares? You wont see anything but squares until you run it with software. The backlight, is it CCFL or LED? Or EL? What diagram are you using to wire this up by?
humm http://www.xmob.co.uk/ebay/item_imgs/t6963/t6963.jpg LCD Data sheet: 240 x 128 LCD. It has an onboard T6963 controller. http://www.powertip.com.tw/product/PG SERIES/PG 240128-A.pdf yes it goes from nothing to black
I have the same LCD (bought from dude in UK). Just a word of warning on the backlight;the LED backlight needs a 1ohm, 1 watt resistor.
That is for the LED/array backlighted version (4.2V-900mA). Most of the PG240128 I saw were LED/edge backlighted (3.6V-120mA - 6 LEDs) and need a 12 Ohm-1W resistor. CD
humm the guy said it had a backlight but am not sure it has i was ready a tutorial the other day of adding a backlight to an LCD i lost it though
That is correct. Motion did you buy yours from a guy named Chris Benstead? If so then it has the LED array backlight.
Show us an angled pic of the displays frame. It should have some kind of white plastic frame underneath the frame. If it's relatively thick it's most likely LED array (like mine's). I haven't seen a LED Edge, so perhaps Turbokeu can check too.
well i took teh fram off and there is like a white pad underneth the same size as the frame dont know whats under it but its a plastic pad white
