when I first saw this (and most of the people in #bit-tech) saw this, I thought it was real...

but that video is amazing! :jawdrop:

It is good (much better than the bolts)...
    BUT...
The bullet casing shot just isn't right... It takes a lot away from the reality of the film.
other places I notest the specular (sp?) levels just weren't right on it... the clip of the bot running with just the sky in the background doesn't look right. I don't know if it's because of the camera motion, if they tried making an artificial sky, or if it's the colouring of the bot though... and I'm too tired to keep watching until I figure it out :p

But it is very very good. Not perfect though. I think that's a little over-zealous.

Only 2 parts were noticable. The bullet scene and one of the other scenes.

    :D

It is a really awesome cgi display!!!

It was pretty good, the animation wasnt far short of perfect but there were only one or two scenes when i could have mistaken it for real the one where its running and the camera is in really close looking up it towards the sky springs to mind. Other than that id didnt seem to integrate perfectly with the background I dont think the lighting was quite right. Makes me think were not far off indistinguishable CGI tho.

I think I figured it out. It doesn't seem to react to the ground. It just kind of floats on a plane above the ground. If you've ever gone running through a field you know you'll hit small holes and mounds that will change your run...

The scenes where it's getting shot at were good, IMO.

Yeah, that's awesome. Bit 'choppy' for my liking. By that I mean the editing, not the animation

if you guys are interested in seeing other CG stuff, go over to the forums at www.cgtalk.com or www.elysiun.com , and look in the "Finished Projects" (or similar) boards.

Wow, really cool video, the bullet casing is really bad compared to the rest of it though.

Heh, watching that bring back the memories (I used to live in South Africa for 18 years) and I think something like that is what they need to sort out all the crime

    Real life Robocops

yes I do realize that its not real before anyone takes me seriously

    Indeed...

It's all getting pretty close though. It'll be a frightening day when things like that are in wide scale use!!!

They'd need to be pretty 'hack' proof :worried: Infect a bunch of those with a nasty trojan or something and there'd be a hole lot of trouble.

that there be some impressive stuff, although the shell does look really poor compared to the rest of the movie.
