It may be a common case, but your's is definitely not that. I would like to have a bash at modding one sometime, as they really are a blank canvas :) .

    Great job :thumb: .

Don't understand how you managed to use those rubber things around the plexy, I tried once but it just pressed the plexy out again.

BTW: nicest chieftec mod ever :thumb:

Thanks guys for the positive replies.

hey Stigma2K that clear molding is a pain in the rear!
It's hard to see what your doing... so you have to use
both hands feeling and working the plexi in the channel.

No I haven't sprayed it yet.
I'm using BASF Limco Supreme Base/Clear paint.
It's the same system I sprayed on my first mod...
An Alienware first generation with the hydraulic door.
It should have the same gloss once it's sprayed.

Time and patience. Tape isn't a bad idea either... but you really need to work at a table. It's also a lot harder with a window that has more than four edges (like something that's kinda stock chieftec window shaped, etc).

I agree though, definately the nicest chieftec mod I've seen. Although I really like the thing that Pug did (I think it was him anyways) with modders mesh and the front doors of a chieftec.

You should thing about switching those top two grills to alien ones... the biohazard doesn't really seem to fit in with the alien in the front and on the heatsink... and it almost gives a blue aliens type of effect imho.

So that molex in the middle lets you just use a four inch molex extension type cable to get to your AGP's extra power instead of dragging a wire across the mobo? That's a great idea on the manufacturers part :)

you may also wanna think about bondoing up the front panel... the holes and whatnot (like for the floppy area) kinda look strange

:jawdrop: :jawdrop: how did you get those cables mounted on that mobo plate so clean like that?

darn this is a great mod
not much people turned a chieftec in such a clean case

    Thanks!
On the backside of the mobo plate there are the extra holes drilled
and tapped, I'm guessing for different boards. I just threaded in some
brass mobo standoffs and used small plastic cable mounts and just
screwed the cable to the standoff.

Firehed I'll take your advice and use just the Alien grills.

I haven't decided on what to do about the two 3 1/2 "
floppy blank plates. I was thinking about a Crystalfontz
or Matrix LCD for that space. Or I may just go the cheaper
route and fill it in since the door closed... will cover it anyway.

Wow, very nice I love the mod.

Not too keen on the think rubber moulding though. But I just don't like that sort of thing, Looks killer in use there though :D.

Also, Is that the wall covering/design/whatever. That cityscape is lovely

    Thanks

Yea It's a wall mural of NYC behind my repair/building/modding workbench
on the back wall of my computer room. My computer workspace/desk
takes up the rest of the room... I guess about 320° of the 16' X 16'
room is desk surface which is all cluttered up now with parts & tools
from one to many projects going on at once.

It's a bit tacky I know but hey It's my little place to get away from it all.
My buddy's don't know jack about computers and they just shake
there heads in confusion seeing electronic stuff scattered everywhere.
They think you have to be some kind of genus to build a computer...
just don't tell them just how easy this stuff really is. LoL
