ok i have all this stuff on my window (pretty much all of it is adhesive) and im wondering how i can get this off. i tried windex lol but it didnt work. any other ideas? oh and something that wont damage is like thinner thanks.
DEFINATELY NOT NAILPOLISH REMOVER! Or Isoprepronal - eitehr one will eat through the window. Soap and water will do.
dawn. i repeat- dawn. if you are careful it wont scratch the window at all. just make sure you rinse it well or dust will stick to it. and dont use windex- it can cause hazing and spiderwebbing.
Acetone will have an abrasive sort of affect on acrylic...It won't quite eat it away, but your cloth will leave scratches. I have no heard of isopropyl alcohol doing the similar, maybe a little bit, not sure if it's noticable.
i use shampoo ... let it set for a few minutes ... gets everything of nicely ... even decals go off on the 1st try ... gives it a nice glazy sheen too
I had a similar situation on a window once. I had tried to tint it and it came out looking like crap. So I pulled the tint off and tried to remove the adhesive that was left over. I gave up and spent the $5 to get a new piece of acryllic. Everything I tried either had no effect or just made the problem worse.
Indeed, contact cleaner is excellent and safe for many surfaces. So is WD40, the residue can be removed with even mild cleaners like Dial soap.
A power hose works well... lol j/k i have the novus scratch remover stuff and the first bottle of the three cleans so if your willing to spend the extra money you might want to get it.
