    the rider: standard ADSL is 512k down, 256k up (real bandwidth, you see more due to the encapsulation). if you don't disconnect your ip will cycle every 7 days or so.

    flix-the-cat : wekl,, my record for holding an IP stands at around 4 months... :)

    Pipex charge me £19.99 a month + VAT, which is approx £23.

    Always on, 50Mb webspace, 12 email addr's

    sounds intersting especially if its so cheap...so wheres the hidden catch?? installation fee??

    flix-the-cat, The catch is you install it yourself, so NO install fee. You need a microfilter/splitter for your BT socket @ around £8 Buy you own modem @ £50 cheap PCI one £££'s for nice routers/modems.

    this adsl thing is interestin as its cheaper then cable and a better uplink aswell...

    what would be a good modem to get??

    Got no problems with the ASUS (See previous post further up the thread)

    Easy to setup via the web based admin.

    Have a look at ADSL Guide for a review of it and other modems / routers.

    Solwise seem to be good supliers, and they do decent microfilters (The 'tail-less' ones - They just plug in the wall like normal phone socket doublers, not like others I've seen that have a cable to plug into the phone line, so the filter 'dangles')
