This is my first "serious" mod. It all started when I found a case in the garbage and bring it to my house with a lot of ideas to case The case is ATX and pretty new I don't now who throw a case like that!better for me The inside Back My plan is change the front to one in acrilic with some aluminium, something like that I painted the some parts of the interior with white spray, the others still waiting for some dremel work In the back I remove the grill and fill the lpt hole. In the motheboard plate I remove some metal to case became less heavy and to reach the mounting holes better. Still need some sanding work. Cutted the side window Also made the face plate to the lcd, power and reset buttons Lights off For now is all, tomorrow I'll do more.
The case will be all painted The case mounted again after being painted I made a top window to a reservoir the acrylic to the front for now I only made the hole for the lcd The radiator that I will use in the front with 2 80mm fans Cutted from here Drilled the holes in the case to hold the front And put wheels I am having some troubles now with the optical drives because the less thickness in the front, I only can use de second bay but I have two optical drives I can maybe put one in an external case an link by usb or buy a dvd recorder, sugestions?
Wheels Where did you find that style caster at? I have been looking for the same, but I cant find them. How much did they set you back?
You are talking about the wheels, right?(sorry my english is not the best) I found the caster(wheels) in AKI , a bricolage supermarket. Sorry I don't understand The interior of the case is finished, it will be white. The other parts of the case will be black. Thanks
how much did it set you back means "how much did they cost". basicalyl he's asking how much it set back your wallet any ways, awesome so far, those wheels are nice, i wanna find some here, as i dont know of any aki stores what in the world is that radiator, its freaking huge!!! holy moly..any ways, so far so good, nice job!
Thanks for the explanation and comments I don't now exactily how much it cost because I bought it a while ago and it was mom that paid but it was less than 10€.
Blimey.. that's a pretty huuuuuge radiator you have there! I'd be tempted to use a larger section (or two) of it and make a fanless case!!
I thought better and I will do a radiator that fill the rigth side of the case I made my control panel More to come
i like the custom pannels, theyr well cut and they look nothing short of professional keep up the g00d work
I forgot to update my work here I hadn't do much more on the case, but the fotos talk by theirselfs Cutted the hole for cdrom drive I bought a PSU to make my case fanless(or try to ) The control panel almost finished, I have only to solder the switches and audio jacks. The lcd panel had to be glued again with a special glue for metals, the epoxy didn't take care of that with flash without I will paint the acrilic so the ligth that comes from the led won't sperad
Very Nice! Good work. I find a similar caster in a Leroy Merlin (the rival of Aki in Spain) but i have seen also in IKEA in diferent sizes and models. I bought mine, similar to these but in rubber, in a hardware shop (i don`t know the exact name... screws, tools, nail etc... shop) for less than 2 euro each.
