Because the demensions on it wont fit in the Xbox case if i have seen the measurment's correctly and i should be getting more parts soon
and another short update As you can see i got my Skin in the mail today and it looks quite nice and shinny just sitting on the paper. so a few minutes later, it was on the xbox case itself blue and shinny and my ATI shirt that i won at a LAN party on friday night and a quick shot of the front of the case. more updates will be comming soon as i have more stuff on the way o and i just used the shell
w00t i got some parts yesturday and i should get some more tomorow which means i can do some updates. and yes i am a geek and i advertise it all the time
There is no shame in advertising!! I mean in my Pic fourm sig, i'm advertising AMD, NVidia and ATI. Intresting idea for a PC, i'm kinda looking forward to seeing where this is going, Good luck!
I want that ATI shirt!!! is it an XL? cool mod btw. what video card you going to use? why dont you get a DVD rom for it instead? you could get 1 of those 24pin? atx connectors to plug into the Xbox, the extra 4 pins could be used to deliver your 12 and 5v with grounds into your xbox case, allowing you to use a standard psu outside the case (all modded up in a nice box of course) good luck on the rest of the mod
Jouu I love Xbox style I can see you prefer blue than green, but I like only green Xbox anyway it might be very interesting project in the end
mmmmm looks very shiney and addictive, and that rocks, cause Nvidia sucks my left NUT!!!!!!!!! (ATI haters, don't be disscouraged you will lose, only because Nvidia can not compete with ATI in gaming graphics)
its been a while and i finally got some parts yep i bought a Xbox Type S controller at a local Eb Games normal looking controller, and can you guess what the first thing i did with it was? yep i took it apart to look at its guts. then i found some wire cutters and went "snip" and there goes the xbox controller plug. i then took the same cutters to a USB cable > then i used my trusty soldering iron and added a great new USB end to my xbox Controller and then i used some scotch tape, cause i'm out of electrical tape right now, and now the solder connections dont touch each other. and so i went to google and found some great Xbox Controller USB drivers called XBCD, and wham it worked, and it worked great in NFSU, i beat it easily, o yeah i played NFSU while waiting for one part that i wanted to include on this update. and tonight when i got home from work there was a package waiting for me and in it was w00t after a little dremeling to remove some stubs in the casing i got my buttons in. and now its time for the PCB to go it. then i put the back and the motors for the rumble in and screwed on the back and wham one cool looking xbox controller that i still have one thing left to do to it, i will pick up the parts that i need at work tomorow for that, and leave you guessing as to what it is
Wow, this looks good. I really like that skin, but you're not going to paint the XBOX? I think a white xbox with that blue skin would have looked awesome, and clean to boot. But hey, your project, and it looks great like this too
correct em if needed, but i say paint the contorller same color as, box, then dye the black part of the box a "different" color, my choice white (white on blue looks sweet) but other than i love the fact that X box contollers are just a different shaped USB, makes some things so easy..............mainy hooking controllers into PC or keyborad and mouse into x Box
Would you not just be better buying a crystal controller? Cool mod so far My skin for my Xbox should arrive soon
the reason i did not keep the controller the same as the xbox is because the controller will match up more to the mouse and keyboard that i will be using
Throw some blue leds into the controller and maybe an off switch if it gets annoying hehe. That would be awesome to have and the blue LEDs would complement the case.
