that Acura really needs some decent 18"ers on it, a good lowering job, tinted windows and a nice shiny intercooler showing thru the front............... Just a lil update for the DVD/cdrom mod, made its new custom tinted perspex facia panel last night, im thinking cold cathode in the dvd will make the most of lighting effect when shining thru. And a smaller more self indulgent mod an extra temp guage in the base. This is the side of the case that will face me on the desktop. hot air gun was used to shape then filed and sanded. beveled edge technique was used to join the 2 surfaces evenly. These shots show it all as being a bit ruff, but will sand wetrub then polish surface smooth and post end results later .
They are for his speakers that he is putting in the bottom of the base. Def, your mod is coming out way cool!! Even when you do one thing, i crap my self with excitment. Did i mention you've already out done your self from HP Res1??? *Praise*
Thanx G4m3R_X3r0 i am having **** loads of fun making this pc 1.30 am in the morning rolls up and i wanna keep going ...its kinda all the ideas i had for hp1, but didnt have to balls to try, You get the feeling some ppl just look at the pics
This is looking awesome!!!! I really like the thing you did with the LCD i want to do something myself with a LCD but i don't have the money for it But keep it up you have some great id's !!!
Since CMG is down I will have to post my praise for your work here. Very well done. Love the lights and the Temp gage. Superb craftmanship.
Very well done so far.. just one remark.. your front blowhole is a little off to the right.. but on the whole it looks very tidy!
Grunt you scared the the bloody sh*t outa me! but your right! .7mm you noticed that by eye but not too bad i recon seeing as i didint have a square edge to originaly measure off!
More updates: Finished the CDrom(DVD) mod today!! i ended up ditching the chrome metal spacers for clear perspex, i think they suit the mod better and were a lot easier to file/sand into shape!!! I had to do some custom hole work to the clear flexi cover, due to the curve shape it made the connecting screws want to go inwards!(pic #6) so a bit of micro routing was done very carefully too i might add!!!!!!! The end result was the screwing comming thru on a square angle.(streight) Then used the newly shaped and sized clear plexy spacers and bolted thru the cdrom panel. The holes in the cdrom panel are elonagted to allow adjustemt from the front when needed. Lighting will be next. Next was to make a new more robust and permanent wire loom for the remote dcrom eject button in the base unit. this was done just using some old scraps, an old rca plug cap was cut to size and sanded down. An old audio card cable was used cause of its good ouoter sheilding and would slide nicley thru the techflex. the cdrom main board and casing were separated, a hole was drilled directly under the eject button the the new loom to enter. solded on and the unit re-assembled. Cheers.
To do that cd-rom button thing, do you have to cut anything on the pcb? Or do you/I simply have to solder some wires to the original buttons jumpers? Did't Zap Wizard do something like this? But his was much more complicated... Please explai
Ah I wouldn't worry about it, it's still very smoothly done, most ppl won't notice.. only fools like me Very nice 'stealthing' of the CD-rom, real craftmansship at work
I really dig the CD Rom idea!! Looks very sleek, and clean, i like the clear stealthing, freakin brilliant, what ya got planned next?
i have a concern on the frist HP case, if you are putting the LCD in the side of the 1st case then why did you put the speakers on the front of it, and not on teh side? know what i mean, well other than that i love your work looks truely suberb love the looks of it, keep up the good work
Could you please explain how you did this? (sorrry for posting this whole thing but it was obviously glued together)
So clean, every single detail is awesome! The deep holes reminds me a little of the interior in a Alfa Romeo 156.
