Cooling Reccomend me a block that takes 3/8" tubing

I have had a 1/2" tubing setup for a while now but want to go to the smaller tubing size and want to know if you guys can reccomend me some places in teh UK that sell these sort of blocks and some that are great performers and yes I know about wizard design but just want to know any other that perform well.

You're taking 10mm OD tube and pushfits so you have a fair choice of manufacturers. Off the top of my head

Asetek waterchill is widely available.
Watercool.de is stocked by Kiomplett as is Alphacool which is alsa at wizd and several others.

you can mix and match between these.

Are you talking about 3/8" ID or OD?

 

I am talking about 3/8" id tubing like waterchill and swiftech use, I have seen good reviews of the 6000 block by swiftech and it not a bad price

 

Then scrub my original recommendations, this is 1/2" OD and yep its just waterchill and swiftech to choose from unless you want to buy your own fittings.

 

the alpha stuff looks great and I really like the aqua tube res with the dome very cool I may go for their stuff if shipping is ok

 

alas you'd neeed to find 1/2" OD 1/4 BSPP fittings if you want that tube.

I would need that to fit in 2 of my 5.25 bays can you get a mount for it like the aqua tube or even use the aqua tube one?

 

if it was me, i would go for

a NexXxoS XP Bold or a NexXxoS HP Pro for the cpu. an Alphacool Chipset block for the nb and a Aqua Computer vga block. all tied together with some blue uv tubes. and for the res

as you already have a great radiator, with one or two of these you may get away with passive cooling! especially with winter around the corner!

 

DangerDen does all its blocks in both 3/8" ID and 1/2" ID versions. All you have to do is specify what barbs you want fitted when you place the order.

 

Keep your existing 1/2" bliocks and just change the fittings? they all use 1/4" BSPT anyway...

 

you can actually use 3/4 ID tubing with 1/2 ID fittings, I've used it and it works VERY well, its an effort to get the tubing on but it won't come off - I don't even use clamps

 

Erm dude, you do mean 3/8 right? and along with that, you need to boil some water and put the tube's end into it to make it loosten up.

 

Just for carification are we aking about using 1/2" OD tubing with pushfits (as per waterchill, swiftech) or using 3/8" ID tube with 3/8" barbs?

Dunno about the availability of Polarflo blocks over the big pond, but they're next on my list. Or just change the fittings and save a rediculous amount of money.

 

The asetek antartica is meant to be decent, and the new Zalman water block edges it by about a degree. I think both are available for about £30 at tekheads.

Im thinking of using 3/4 hose. How did you get it on 1/2 inch fittings - did you just shove in a piece of 1/2 inch into the 3/4?

 

Just use 3/4 barbs. Simple.

Wow 3/4"id the OD would be huge!!! I am going to go for a nexxxo set up looking at reviews it performs very well and look cool thanks for all the input guys
