i must say thats some nice work with the windows , nnice straight clean lookign cuts . be a mod t watch .
thx i've been watching your v1000 for some time, and couldn't wait to get my v2000 to begin modding - yeah this cases are great, especially the side panels, as their are thicker than the ones of my lian li PC71 and easier to cut with a jig saw
yeah status: a lot of work at university and in my job are holding me back to mod on the next days... so i am using the time to think about a lot of ideas for the hdd and aquatube housing (kinda angled style to see the inside of the tube trough the big window). chekclist for now: brainstorming
sry, i've a lot of work to do right now in my job and at university (hopefully i get my bachelor's degree this term), there are 3 exams at the end of october... so i think major updates will take some time. maybe i can find some time to cut the plexi for the radiator-mounting this weekend, we'll see...
UPDATE 14.Oct.2004 Ok guys, for those who can't wait, here's some update. I began to build the top construction for the radiator which is made of white and blue plexi. the white plexi will be mounted inside of the case and the 3 rings i am going to cut out are lighted with white LEDs. on the outside of the case i will mount some blue plexi (as at the window). in between the plexis there will be the case hte three parts (case, blue and white plexi) will be screwed together with some bolt screws. i am not sure yet which i am going to use. ok the pix, here they are: the blue top plexi (i rounded the edges to match the general case theme): the white plexi (don't carry about the scratches, they wont be visible, so i didn't take much care when cutting it... ) i only started to cut out the holes for the fans, as it is much work by hand and with a dremel... maybe i am doing it another way and using another piece of plexi). to fit the holes to the fans one of them had to die i screwed the outer part of the fan to the plexi and dremeld it to fit as its not a very fine method i am maybe going to do a new plexi (maybe lasercut or so...) stay tuned for more to come the next weeks... p.s. for those who didn't like the aquatube res i decided to use 2 of them, also lighted with white leds: edit: of course there will also be blowholes in the blue plexi
man, i love that shiny CPU block! where did you get it ? (if this has been asked for and answered, i apologize) MOD ON !
i destroyed the blue plexi for the top of the case today. first i cut the plexi which will be mounted in the inside of the case. the one where the radiator is mounted on. no problems with that. i used the folowing tool for that(i don't know the english term for this one) - you can cut circles with this (adjustable diameter). here's the result: it has to be sanded of course... i was a bit lazy on that maybe tomorrow. looks like the plexi has round edges, but its just the cam's effect... when trying to cut the deep blue plexi for the top it didn't stand the tension of the tool it performed on it and was rised by the bit tool and hit the machine while breaking in many pieces... so i decided to use another "thing" for the outside part on top of the case. i am going to cut a piece of aluminium with the three blowholes and polish it. i think this will match the chrome logo which i am going to apply on the other side of the case... stay tuned
I'm assuming that stuff is clear plexy with the protective sheet still on it then? Shame about the other stuff, it really looked awesome. I hope you can make it work out - I love this mod!
no theres no more sheet on it. thats the color, light blue. but you wont see this one as it is mounted on the inside of the case and will be covered by the chrome plate on the outside of the case. the rings will be lighted and the only part, that is visible
UPDATE 23.Oct.2004 ok here's the new plate i made for the outside on the top of the case: thats the destroyed blue piece: first cutted it to fit: then used again my favourite tool to cut the blowholes then the radius on the corners were cutted of with this machine (sry i dont know the english term for that): finished: i am going to polish it tomorrow to get that cool chrome effect. a little story: this dog (my friend's who was with me today): seemed to like the pocket of my pant (in which there only was my mobile and an unused piece of a kleenex). he began to smell and lick and finally teared apart my shorts: stay tuned
i love the way your taking pictures while this dog ravages your shorts to pieces! Oh and nice moddage!
ok, today i got the video card for the system, it's a palit daytona 6800ultra. this thing is huge i will watercool it with this nice cooler which is made by aquacomputer in germany, it should be available at the end of next week. so i am waiting for this one because i dont trust hybride coolers like the innovatek one (copper and aluminum together , as actually i am not a big fan of innovatek products... maybe i can polish the top aluminum plate this weekend and carry on with mounting the radiator...
