have you figured out what color your going to make it yet, also what kind of hard ware are you putting in to it.
I'm leaning towards a dark colour, 2-pak auto paint of course. a dark very deep purple with a very strong green pearl tint thru it.so the colour will change from diff angles depending how light hits it. But it may looks better a bright colour!!!!!! Innards will be a P4 3.0 nw, duel kingston BH5 512's, 5950u, with silver prop water blocks, 2 x BI Extreme 120 rads with a swifty pump.
Very impressive mod it looks excellent Just an idea on you light around your display If the EL strips does not work you could also try filling on of the already bend tubes with water and placing led at both sides. Water transmits light better than the solid tube. Just make sure you seal it good .
Hey all, got a good days work in today The best thing about school hol's is ive had plenty 'o' time to think of how to go about the next mod i wanted to do! Fans/rads. the orig idea was to have a blowhole fan thru the front of the case as well as having 2 x 120mm rads for the wc setup, one rad/fan was to have been mounted in the side of the case and the other as an exhaust in the rear of the case. This all looked untidy in the mockup i did, So! i decided to combine the front fan and rad! using push/pull system all- in-one idea in the front. to help minimise noise and have some sort of cowling i made 2 x custom plexy 10mm thick plates. Aslo adding some LED lighting to help add effect. i was very suprised at how well this worked!!! and as a bonus solved my front fan lighting as well
Wow... I'm seriously impressed... subscribing now! A question - how do you get the edges of the plexi so smooth? I've never worked with it, so any tips would be much appreciated Can't wait to see this with a paint finish
thanx guys use 600-800 wet and dry sandpaper, then buff shiny using cutting compound. I,m using "autosol" mag wheel paste atm cause im out of everything else brasso would work just as well. Cheers
thanx guys!!! a quikky update working on the front switch panel where the on/off and hdd and power led's are. The orig setup was just the button and leds poking thru the bare metal, looked a bit crude. so im dressing the back up with some pespex, then attactching some nice shiny RCA jacks and some clear tubing for the new wire to run thru to the side of the case, wich will have rubber gromets and also RCA jacks. Then some more special lighting effects, to make the tubes pretty blue! 8) Spacing is a bit out atm but can adjust them closer and even them up later.
kinda i guess... but not so much the same time its not nearly as busy as the orac project im diggin the way the light travles through the tubeing
