This is my last mod... lots of pics, I though I would share it with you. I will cut it into 3 post.

This all started because I liked the design of the new LIAN-LI cases but not the outside of them. So I thought why not take my Xaser II that I like very much and just redesign it.

    The start all striped down.

After some rivet drilling the parts lined up.

Removing drive cage mounts and test fitting the top on the bottom.

Some times little pieces must go to make it work... this was one of them.

Test fitting of the MB and frame work. A bit tight on the drives but a good fit. And no the cross braces are not mounted yet, that's why they are just hanging there.

Just a back shot to show how it will all lay out. I'm very happy so far with how it's working out.

This will be the new drive cage I'm using for my HD's. It is out of a gateway. The locking buttons will be dyed and the metal painted.

This is a pic of the heat shield I will install between the HD/PSU section and the MB. I cut it off the same case I got the cage.

This is a shot just to give you an idea of placement of the shield. The holes will be patched and it will be painted. for cooling of this section a intake fan will be places in the front before the HD and the 2 fan PSU will carry any hot air out the back. Before it's asked... yes the HD cage is going on the bottom.

I cut out the front section so I can make a clean install of a 120mm fan.

This is the cut out for the fan mount.

The next few pic of my great dremel skills.

These are 2 shots of the mounting plate installed and the fans in place.

Here is where I stand now the heat shield is in place and the drive cage is painted

Here are two shots with the drive cage and PSU installed:

This is with the MB installed, I putting in a DigiDoc 5+ those two colored wires coming out the front are the sensors wires for the CPU, one next to the core and the other on the back of the MB under the cpu.

That being said. Well done; looks great.

looks great, I personaly like the traditional style but to each his own. You should post a pic from the front with the door closed.

Thank you for your replies. The front atm is standard Xaser II, but that will soon change no peeking :D

heh, I like the idea, a nice standard departure. It would really help you stick out at a lan with every ones window on the left side

Now that is a creative looking mod :thumb: Get a second one of those front grills, and make it so the entire front looks like nothing but ridges :thumb:
