well heres my dilema... im definately going to build my case - but the thing is, I dont know whether to go with an ATX size mobo (s939) and have nice features and great to OC ;) or a mATX (s754) version which can be smaller and portable...

so I was wondering, would it be better to have a good ol atx size rig, or go matx :)

thanks for your expert opinions :thumb:

It's a personal thing, but if you have a car then there's no problem taking a full tower to a LAN, done it myself.

I just use the box that came with my case when I bought it.

How about something like this ?

I don't think you can say it doesn't have enough power for you, and it's SFF, so it's very portable.

All you'd need to go with it is a TFT screen.

The case I have never had a problem with...its the damn 19" monitor that breaks your back. If the case really bothered you they make shoulder straps for both the monitors and cases. You just throw it over your shoulder and head out.

yah unless you goto multiple lan parties or hafta walk an enormous distant, a smaller case wont save that much space/weight and that would be compounded if you had to cut back on performance. Monitors do make the difference and often we bring a wheely office chair to cart them around

Just get a GearGrip from GeekWearz. I bought one at QuakeCon 2002 and I haven't regretted it. Their site is in the final stages of upgrading but when it's up they should have their gear grip plus a monitor grip too. It's adjustable to all sizes (from sff to server tower) and was only $20, I think.

meh, I have a chieftec server that is about hip-high on me. I take it to lans. heck sometimes I ride it around at the lan (it has castors) It is just a matter of if you can get everything in the car/van/suv.

about the monitor do what maybe half do:
    get an LCD
