Hiya. I've finally put my machine together, and now the damn thing won't even start up The stuff: DFI LanParty Ultra B Rev. B NF-2 AMD Athlon XP-m 2500+ Geil PC3200 2X512MB Sapphire 9800PRO flashed to XT WD Raptor Seagate Barracuda S-ATA Full DangerDen TDX/M4/M4 cooling. HELP! PLEASE EDIT: The leds on the mobo tell me that it's ing the DDR Timings (led 2&3)
make sure the CMOS is set on defaults (use the reset jumper to be sure) and see if it will boot. Do you get anything on the screen at all? Any beep warnings? HDD's spinning at all??
Sounds like the good old cold boot problem to me. Get yourself over to the PCPer DFI forums as this seemed to be the best place when I was trying to sort out my Infinity
Turn it on and leave it running (in its non booting state) for a couple of mins, then try rebooting it.
What worries me is that only 2 leds are light. (Nr. 2&3, which indicate that the board is programming the DDR Timing) The leds don't change there status. Cheers, Mike
No effects....still 4leds on and nothing more... Cheers, Mike EDIT: With no RAM inserted, the LED near the RAM slots is still on...weird?
HDD's are getting juice, as they feel warm after about 10mins, still....nothing works.. My WC system had a little leak and some water leaked onto the AGP port, the PC was OFF, and was turned on for the first time after 3months today. The leak happened about 48h ago. Everything was dried. HELP. Cheers, Mike
replace parts and see if the computer boots - trial and error? Its probably one thing, not the whole system thats gone wrong.
That's why having 2rigs, one AMD and one Intel based sucks.....and on top of that the Intel SFF has an integrated GFX card......damn Only spare part I got is the RAM, (Geil in AMD, Kingston HyperX in Intel) Will try..... Cheers, Mike P.S. I'm gonna go mad...I've even connected my APC Back-Ups for the sake of better current:grrr:
Replaced the mobo batt. Nothing..... Cheers, Mike EDIT: When I hit the RESET EZ Button (the one integrated with the mobo) nothing happens, normal behaviour? I'm desperate...
Sounds like you've solved your own problem there, are there any beeps? If there are you've most likely killed your graphics card/ AGP slot.
1) Try holding Insert when you turn it on If that doesnt work: 2) Hold the reset ez, then press the power ez (or whatever it's called) and keep holding the reset button for at least 5 secs. Then let go and see what happens. And if that doesnt work: 3) Move the CMOS jumper to reset. Then turn it on. In theory, it should shut down again. Then, unplug the power cord and leave for at least 2 mins. Put the CMOS jumper back, plug in and turn on. Worked for my AN7 anyway... And if that doesn't work....I dunno . B0rked board I would guess.
Sorry Kam, but I'm back from the grave The GFX card works, so does the ram, so it's either the mobo or CPU, great........... Till then, the 9800XT is back on stock air in my Aria, installing HL2...finally Cheers, Mike P.s. I'll keep ya posted, maybe the mobo's KIA...
